More citrus fruits in the taste with some sweet yeasty notes and lite spice on the back end. This is not the big brew I expected it to be, but it certainly doesn’t disappoint. baraciisch (138), USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 24, 2009 Yellow orange in color... Aroma of floral and citrus hops... Flavor has a distinct Belgian flavor of citrus and yeast like a blonde, but a nice crisp flavor with a gently bitter finish... Like the style.. Very intrigued.. matt20102 (6), Michigan, USA does not count | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 21, 2009 Pours copper-gold with a thick, lasting head. Aroma of grapefruit and citrus. Taste of bitter orange and grapefruit (cascade hops) but not overpowering (like Ruination). By flavor, it’s unmistakably a Stone brew but is generally quite pleasant. Well carbonated but without excess carbonation- this beer would pair very well with a burger and fries. Ron (1016), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 20, 2009 Pours copper with a thin white head that sticks around. Smells of citrus, fruity, melons, some soapy hints. Flavor of citrus and some underlying earthiness and a light spicy finish. Some IPA’s are alittle too hoppy for my taste, but this one is so different that I really enjoyed it. Thanks JB. mnovacanes (49), Munster, Indiana, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 19, 2009 Appearance: medium reddish gold with orange as well; white head with pretty good head stand; clear
Aroma: the distinction from straight American IPAs from yeast is more pronounced than expected; lots of citrus fruit, predominantly; much stronger yeast presence than usual; not necessarily bad
Flavor: lovely balance; lots of citrus, fruity hops from America; Belgian yeast provides more of a supporting role on the palate, but it supports nicely!; malt flavor is low; not an over-the-top bitterness; nicely kept under control and in balance with the rest of the flavors
Palate: smooth with moderate carbonation; medium-light bodied; without too much astringency Boutip (2353), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 18, 2009 Bottle: Poured a clear bright golden color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some pretty good lacing. Aroma of slightly bitter hops with a light fruity yeast. Taste is also dominated by some light fruity ester with some dry hoppy notes and some neutral malt in the background. Body is full for style with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Well done thought there is some better example for this style with better balance between yeast and hops. jb (1036), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 17, 2009 Picked up this bottle in Ohio. Didn’t know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. Why, don’t know, Stone has never disappointed me. Heavy heavy grapefruit and pine aroma, fresh hops basically. Clear, gold appearance with fine lacing. Palate is art. Apricot, wheat, bubble gum, awesome interesting and complex there is more going on there. Nice middle part, velvety, then finishes dry.
