Commercial Description:
When reading the name “Stone Cali-Belgique IPA”, “Cali” hints that it is a California style IPA, and this brew has an undeniable Belgian influence, indicated by the word “Belgique” (which is how Belgium’s French-speaking population says the word “Belgian”; the Dutch speaking Belgians say “Belgie”). We carefully selected a Belgian yeast strain that illuminates a fascinating new aspect of the beer that is otherwise quite simply Stone IPA.

The result is both completely new and different, while still being recognizable as a Stone Brew – and Stone IPA in particular. Think of it as an otherwise identical twin to Stone IPA that was raised in a Belgian culture. Literally.

Color is a bright gold with a faint haze. Carbonation is light with a small tight white head. Aroma is a hoppy citrus scent. Taste is the same as aroma. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a smooth crispness. Finish is hoppy with a little floral then a bold citrus and bitterness that rollover a bit of malt sweetness that also carries a very faint yeast fruit flavor. In the after taste the bitterness and citrus linger on. This is a good IPA but I was hopping the Belgian yeast would have played a bigger part

Bottle. Powerful citrus fruity aroma. Hazy bronze-amber body, fluffy white head. Flavor is grapefruit and spice, nicely bitter, a touch of sweetness. Lengthy pleasantly bitter finish. A very nice and enjoyable brew.

Aroma: lots of citrus fruits, mainly orange, but also pineapple. Hops work well with the malt sweetness and yeast character. Palate is more citrus hops, clove, lots of malt sweetness, but not cloying. Slight bit of toffee/caramel. Palate is nice and thick, low (good) carbonation. Finish is really nice. i think this mix works really well.

22 oz bottle. Pours a clear straw color, head that dissapears quickly. Nose is citrus, bananas, and slightly yeasty. Flavor taste like freshly squeezed grapefruit, mild pepper, hint of vanilla, and pine. I know my description sounds bad, but somehow it works. There is a burn from the alcohol. Decent IPA.

Slightly cloudy gold appearance. Aroma is a sweet hoppiness. You can definitely pick up on the triple notes. Flavor is candy sweet with a little bit of banana notes, but a definitely cascade hop taste giving a nice grounding and finish to the profile. Really solid beer.

Clear golden pour with an off-white head, very good looking. Excellent aroma of orange, pine, banana. The flavor is a slight step down from the aroma - the pine hops for the most part overpower the mild fruity spice of the beer. Clean, dry palate. Good beer, but not as good as hobblen chouffe.

22 oz bomber. Slightly hazy golden color, with a thick, tight sticky head. Nice retention. Fruity Belgian yeast with notes of banana and candi sugar yields to pineapple and mango. Flavor is pine and resin, slight woodiness and spice. Balanced malt flavor, enough to keep the hops fom running wild. Alcohol warming on the slightly dry finish.
