Commercial Description:
When reading the name “Stone Cali-Belgique IPA”, “Cali” hints that it is a California style IPA, and this brew has an undeniable Belgian influence, indicated by the word “Belgique” (which is how Belgium’s French-speaking population says the word “Belgian”; the Dutch speaking Belgians say “Belgie”). We carefully selected a Belgian yeast strain that illuminates a fascinating new aspect of the beer that is otherwise quite simply Stone IPA.

The result is both completely new and different, while still being recognizable as a Stone Brew – and Stone IPA in particular. Think of it as an otherwise identical twin to Stone IPA that was raised in a Belgian culture. Literally.

tasted and looked like an IPA mixed with a saison, likely due to the belgian yeast. I like the idea.

Bomber from Hi-Time. Definitely a hybrid kind of beer in more than one way. I wasn’t even sure what type of glass I should use. Pours a golden-amber color with a thin, pretty much short-lived, off-white head. Nice aroma here, theres a citrusy hop scent, similar to Stone IPA with the addition of yeast and cloves. Juicy hops, citrusy flavors, cloves, yeast and crisp bitterness in the finish. Some of the Belgian characteristics linger into the aftertaste. The Belgian yeast is certainly noticeable in the flavor and gives Stone IPA another element. Unforunately, I don’t really think Stone IPA needs any tweaking. This is a good beer but if I want hops and I want Stone I’ll just take a Stone IPA. If I want a Belgian I’ll look to another brewer. I’m glad I got to try this.

Nice golden color with a medium sized head. Floral aromas and the flavor is sweet with a little bitterness.

Poured at the Gulfstream beer fest. Pours a nice gold color with a small white head. Aroma is really nice and unique. I get yeast, citrus, spices, bread, honey and some really nice floral hops. Flavor is full of spices, yeast, great floral hops and a great mouthfeel. Nice. VERY nice.

Golden color with a moderate size white head. Aroma is heavy on the citrus with some gentle hops, oranges, yeast & sugar. Flavor is moderately sugary and hoppy with some tropical fruit, light spice, and yeast. Not sure why, but I was very underwhelmed by this. Stone usually does very well with Belgian & hoppy beers, but this one was lacking in personality & taste.

22 oz. bottle purchases today at Central Market in Mill Creek, WA. Pours a clear amber with a foamy cream-colored head. Aroma: Honey, hops, and grapefruit. Flavor: A perfect mix of an IPA and a Belgian-style ale (obvious). Farking shiat...I love this beer.

Bottle. Pours a honey amber transparent body with a thin off white head. Fruity esters of pear, and banana drift from the glass. Bitter, dry and earthy at first. Then expands to include note of spice, and light fruit, notes of banana and bubblegum to round this one out.

22oz bottle. Pours a light brownish rust color with a minimal head. Nose is odd, kinda hoppy but also a bit yeasty and lemony and dry. Palate is smooth and clean. Flavors are almost saison like with some light yeast and a bit of dry pepper but also some fresh hop notes and caramel like sweetness. this was real interesting.
