| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 1, 2009 Bottle. A golden orange color with a laced white head. A Belgian wit or tripel like aroma with a more subtle IPA character. A nicely spiced flavor with plenty of candy sugars, orange, and pepper with a dry bitter finish. Interesting blend and hard to categorize. beerheart (237), Erie, Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 1, 2009 Pours a light orange-amber with a thin, frothy white head and ebullient carbonation that last throughout the pour. Very nice lace, too. Very big yeasty nose with some spiciness, particularly cloves. It is more oily on the tongue than I would expect. Taste is a bit of lemon, bread, cloves. It finishes a bit more grassy than I expect from an IPA. Beardface (991), Eugene, Oregon, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 1, 2009 Nice dark amber pour with an almost invisible white head. Hefty yeast aroma with some nice malts and a bit of lemon citrus in the back. Big citrus hops going crazy throughout the beer with solid malt and quite a bit of yeast flavor as well. An interesting if not outstanding brew. Fin (3415), Merton, Oxfordshire, England
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 1, 2009 Bottle from a box ordered from Beers of Europe, consumed 31-01-09 Pours light gold with white head. This beer has a fruity and yeasty nose with some spice. Taste is a touch of sweet lemon, even a little of sherbert at times, some tropical fruit, little bit creamy. Its quite soft in the mouth and the hops are forever present. Its a likeable beer and very nice but not a patch on the Vertical Epic 08-08-08 that I’ve just had. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 1, 2009 Good clear amber color with a sizable foamy white head. Notes of yeast, spice, doughy malt, and a gentle touch of hops in the nose. Light bodied with a creamy texture. A balancing act of spice, yeast, and citrus hop flavors dominate throughout, with a touch of alcohol and malt. The finish is a soft touch of hops and alcohol, and falls far short of what I’m used to from a Stone IPA. rajendra82 (703), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 1, 2009 Pretty standard IPA appearance, with a clear, orange-golden body, a two finger thick head, and lively carbonation streamers. The smell was floral hoppy with some spiciness imparted by the Belgian yeast. The taste was nicely balanced between the Belgian fruity version of the Pale Ale style and the drier American IPA variant. The hops were present but subdued, and some Brett type funk was evident as well. The finish started dry and bitter at first but ended on a sweeter candi sugar and some spice. This was a marriage of the lighter versions of the two styles, so the body was not too thick. I ended up wishing they had matched up the ingredients of a DIPA and BSPA instead. aplusbreaks (330), , Colorado, USA
