On draught during the Wisconsin Micro-brewers Beerfest in Chilton, Wisconsin. Pours a coppery amber brew with a slowly dissolving white head that has a good lacing and texture. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, roasted nuts, and a touch of citrus zest. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with a light pale ale/citrusy flavor. Finish is slightly metalic, semi-dry with a good balance of citrus and caramel malt flavors. Pretty much the same character as the III Dachshund version.

It’s an amber coloured beer, with a big frothy head. lots of a caramel, roasted nuts aroma. slight hops mid palate, not a lot of body, but its a pretty pleasent and easy beer to sip on.

Bottled. Poured hazy medium amber with a creamy, well-retained cap of beige head. The aroma picked up soft, sweeter caramel and nutty notes.. an earthy/dried leafy impression followed.. quite nice. The flavor had a sweet caramel and fruity core with dry leaves and pine bitterness around.. came together in an odd, tacky fashion right at the finish. Lighter-bodied on the palate with a bit too much carbonation.. OK flow, but rough at the end. this was a solid, sessionable brew.

On tap at Stone Cellar Brewpub in Appleton, Wisconsin. Medium amber/golden color with the slight aroma of malt. Taste had a little bit of a carbonation/beer bite and didn’t have an incredible amount of flavor. Tasted like a typical Amber ale but nothing special. Probably wouldn’t buy again.

Bronze color with a stable beige head. Nutty and caramel aromas. Flavors are nutty with a mild coffee nip. A light pear fruity component. Dry and refreshing was a comment I made even before see the description. Switch between Stone Cellar and Gray’s for brewing.

Growler. Orange color with no head. Aroma of light orange and ginger with some other spice I can’t quite put my nose on... could be cloves. The taste is very much the same as the aroma. Nicely bitter on the finish with what struck me as Saaz hops. Quite a nice Pale.

CONTRACT BREWED FOR: III DASCHSHUNDS BEER CO., IN MILWAUKEE. Light Copper Coloring with Sandy Ring. Extremely Pale for a Brown Ale. Nice Malt Flavor and Sweet Herb, Ginger Perhaps. Detectable on Aroma as Well. Seems More Like a Nice Light Christmas Ale Then Anything with the Sweet Ginger Taste to it. In Either Case, A Very Nice and Highly Drinkable Brew.
