Now that I finally get back to this place after the owners have had time to settle in. Much better than the first attempt. Caramel and grain, some floor malt. and touch of citric hops. On tap at local beer tasting. I believe that this may have been the first run at this brew, but why serve it. Dark amber color with a small off white head. Nutty laced industrial cleaner aromas. Flavors, unfortunately match the aromas. I’ll definitely rerate when I get to this brewpub again (formerly Adler/Appleton Brewing). But first impressions do count.

Draught sample at the brewpub, early October 2006. Dark gold verging on light amber with a smallish off-white head diminishing to a lasting ring....grapy, bready initial aroma becomes increasingly spicy with warmth as rye/carroway and hints of juniper show up....body is grainy with noticeable oats and corn presence, rye spiciness mixing nicely with wheaty sourness towards the finish, rough and tart and rather "wild" in feel, quite distinctive if not by any means an every day tipple. Surprised at the number of low ratings here, to me this verges on special.

From the bottle. Light orange color that is a little hazy. The aroma is light tangerines. There is also a nutty note. The taste is bread with some walnuts. There is also a little bit of wood. The finish is dry and crisp with a bite of grapefruit. This is interesting and refreshing.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle from brewpub. Pours a clear copper amber brew with an average off-white head that dissolves to a fine film . Aroma of bread dough, rye, oatmeal, and a touch of flowery hops. Taste is medium body, light carbonated, some spicy multi-grain, with a dry finish. Nice rye/oatmeal aftertaste.

On tap at the Brewpub. Poured a lighter-golden with a medium off-white head. Whole lot going on in the aroma... perfumey hops, biscuit, corn, soap, medium fruit sugars, and caramel were all in there. Flavor had a caramel base with layers of spicy rye, floral bitters, corn, and light fruits over it. Mild bitterness around the sides. I thought this was quite intriguing, and I’d probably have another.

Low flavor profile but gentle and subtle. Moderate palate, some carbonation. Long finish of light bitterness. I don’t get the rye in it, and I usually do. Not memorable but o.k. On tap at brewpub.
