Commercial Description:
Named after the early Fox River explorer, Jacques Marquette, this recipe originated at the Fox Classic Brewery once located in downtown Appleton. This beer is an export-style European pilsner bier with several additions of the noble saaz hop. This will come across as a dry, clean beer with a wonderful hop nose. 1.056 OG, 24.4 IBUs. First place at the North American Awards 2005.

Bottle shared with Radek, Frylock, Garthicus and Blankboy, thanks much to Swoopjones! Medium gold body, thin white head. Nose is a small amount of noble hop, some lightly buttery malt, some citrus & orange. Flavor is citrus, really fruity and a bit of malt.

On tap at the Cellar. Light spicy hop aroma. Light pilsener malt flavor with nice hop bitterness on the end. Decent, drinkable, just not a standout.

Bottle (355ml) shared with Radek Kliber, frylock, garthicus & rudolf -- c/o swoopjones. Pours a cloudy golden-orange with a small fizzy white head. Aroma of slightly buttery caramel malt, grain, light hops and citrus fruit. Flavour of caramel malt, citrus fruit and light grassy hops. Medium bodied. Not very good, just OK.

Bottle courtesy of swoopjones (Thanks Mike): Pale golden color beneath a white head. Cereal, malt, and some lemon-fruitiness in the aroma. Lightly tart citric lemon flavors, hints of hops and some non-descrpit malts. Meh.

Simple yellow pils. Light aroma of pear, it seemed to me. Clean, crisp with a slightly astringent note. Standard pils flavor, decent. On tap at brewpub.

Slightly hazy medium yellow, with a sharp, hoppier character but, as typical for the style, difficult to overcome its overwhelming mediocrity.
