| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 20, 2006 I had this on draft at the Pizza Port real ale fest and it was great. Stone took their Smoked Porter to the next level with the addition of chipotles (smoked jalapenos). The pepper worked into the flavor deliciously. If you want a different take on a porter, with some smokiness and bite to it, this is the one. alexanderj (2284), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 13, 2008 ON tap at the brewery. Same color as the original, dark brown with a little light brown hea. Aroma was again similar but with some peppery notes. Aroma wwas a little too faint. Flavor was balanced with a solid, but not forceful, amount of chipotle flavor. This meshed well with the smokiness of the original beer. Pleasantly surprised. mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 6, 2007 1 liter growler via Wetherel, shared with Eyedrinkale thanks. Deep brown in color with no carbonation. Very still. Aroma is smokey but no chipolte, and the smoke is barely noticeable. Malty smokey flavor. Again barely any smoke their. Peppery flavor with chocolate notes. Ok beer. Needs more peppers. jeffc666 (1897), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 25, 2007 Draft at the brewery. Smells a bit more smoky than the regular smoked porter. The flavor is very similar to the regular smoked porter with hints of chipotle. I would have liked more chipotle to separate it from its parent. SDbruboy (1833), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 30, 2006 On draft at Stone World Bistro. Rich ebony color, creamy head with full body and texture. The usual smoked porter goodness, lots of roastiness, bitter chocolate notes and a bit of smokiness, with a burnt pepper bite in the finish. Improves as it warms with more chocolate, coffee and capsicum coming to the fore. Very nice and served as a great compliment to my buffalo burger. wetherel (1641), Encinitas, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 24, 2007 Bought a growler for trade at Stone, and bought a pint for myself to try. Full head that dies quickly. Dark roasted grain color and flavor that lingers in the back of your mouth for minutes. Could barely tell the chipotle, but maybe it’s clearer with a head-to-head comparison. Good beer, but a little to dry for my taste. JohnnyJ (1353), Carlsbad, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 28, 2008 On tap at stone. Quite spicey, pepper and chipolte that stay burning on the tongue, with the roasted malt and smoke also coming through slightly. I dont think the flavors mix too well, and the mouthfeel seems a bit thin. I geuss it’s worth trying if you see it, but not that good.
