natejgood (129), Denver, Colorado, USA Apr 26, 2008 Pours a medium brown with a light white head. The beer is somewhat hazy and has a ton of bubbles racing toward the top of the glass. It is darker in color than most IPAs. The beer smells hoppy and somewhat bitter. The beer is nicely hopped with a bit of a roasty aftertaste. It is relatively crisp and refreshing.
daknole (683), Plantation, Florida, USA Aug 23, 2008 Bottle that I picked up from Winooski Beverage. This pours a really nice cloudy rich amber color with a fair sized tan head. Aroma is hoppy and fruity. Flavor is very hoppy and juicy. I was getting notes of pears and apricots. Some would call this one too malty to be a great IPA, but it was really nice to drink. mabel (1633), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 21, 2008 [1585-20080816] 355mL bottle. Slight beef steak sauce aroma has weird floral notes. Slightly hazy, light amber brown body with a quick creamy light tan head. Slightly grainy hops flavour has heavy yeast characteristics. Medium body. Average.
(@ Cole’s IPA Festival; Buffalo, NY) swoopjones (1107), Buffalo, New York, USA Aug 18, 2008 Bottle @ Coles IPA Tasting. Pours a orange golden amber. Aroma was prety weak with little hop presence. Taste waqs malt dominated with very mild hop presence. Easy to drink but not hoppy enough flatmatt (74), Northville, Michigan, USA Aug 16, 2008 Updated: Aug 21, 200812 oz bottle received as a gift. Rerate from later in the 6-pack, as the first couple bottles each seemed to have at least a mild infection going. Pours orange amber with a large, bubbly head that stops me from finishing the pour for over ten minutes. Appearance is getting marked down due to the out-of-control head. Aroma is citrus hops, grassy hops, a bit of caramel, very sweet. Flavors of citrus and grassy hops along with pale malts and a little apricot. Needs quite a bit more hops to be a good IPA. thornecb (1054), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Aug 5, 2008 Pours amber into a shaker. Off-white micro head tophats and pyramids rim and does not recede. Pine and resin aromas. Sweet caramel upfront which turns to a sour, chalky, lasting resin/grapefruit finish.
