Lovely aroma like a forest full of hops. Pine, spruce. Smooth and quaffable. Floral, lovely tree leaf and fir tree flavors. Good times. re-rate from bottle. Red-orange with off-white head and lovely lace, soft mouthfeel. Lovely hop bouquet and hint of honey in finish balances it out. Great IPA with fruity--peach?--overtones without being too estery. Earthy but not muddled too. Bright, happy beer. twitcher (293), framingham, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jun 2, 2008 Not a good sample of an IPA brewed in the northeast. Looks nice- amber color, even pillow head that sticks around. Smell= very sharp citrus hop notes. Chalky, dry hop flavors go along with a very aggressive bitterness. Hop profile goes downhill fast into vegetal flavors with some nasty spent tobacco thrown in. Chalky flavors accentuate carbonation, making for less-than-pleasant mouthfeel. The taste is subjectively pleasing with a well crafted after taste that creates a enjoyable experience. These taste better at the State Theater, but Ill have one anyday. Ive yet to have a bad ipa from the great state of Maine. natejgood (190), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 26, 2008 Pours a medium brown with a light white head. The beer is somewhat hazy and has a ton of bubbles racing toward the top of the glass. It is darker in color than most IPAs. The beer smells hoppy and somewhat bitter. The beer is nicely hopped with a bit of a roasty aftertaste. It is relatively crisp and refreshing. BellsFan (47), Michigan, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 29, 2008 bottle Poured a hazy red amber color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus fruits, light pine, floral hops, perhaps a bit of skunk and herb as well. Taste of citrus, pine, grapefruit, light toffee sweetness, and a dry finish. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 27, 2007 A better than average IPA, with a nose of pine and lemon, and a palate of pine, grass, and citrus. Many IPA are overwhelming in their hoppiness, but this one hits a nice balance between the bitters and the less harsh aspects of the brew, for a very drinkable final product. golubj (1290), Sunnyvale, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 12, 2007 Bottle. Aroma of caramel malt, a little bit of alcohol, and a small amount of citrus. Mouthfeel is nice with low carbonation, but the up-front flavor is a little like dishwater. There are also some hints of citrus in there, and a sort of piney / grassy bitter finish.
