Commercial Description:
Brewed after Stone Coast's flagship 420 IPA, 840oz (that's 52.5 lbs) of hops were used. Dry-hopped with Liberty, Mt. Hood, and Tettnang whole hops during 5 weeks of conditioning. In addition whole Chinook hops were added after filtration. Surprisingly well-balanced, and gets better with every sip.

Bottle courtesy of Beershine and Oakes. Pours amber with white head. Aromas of citrus hops and sweet malts. Big malty caramel flavor to start followed by mostly citrus hops (grapefruit, orange, lemon). Medium body with a sticky, syrupy mouthfeel. Decent.

22 oz bottle courtesy of Oakes. Great smell but light on the citrus. Very floral with a burnt orange color. Flavor is piney but not overly so, citrusy finish with interesting spice notes. A decent Double IPA.

Courtesy Oakes and Beershine. The dark, reddish orange body is hazy, topped by a small cap of creamy, off-white head. Soapy, spotty lacing marks the glass. Aromas include big, buttery, sweet toffee malts, some doughy yeast, and a grapefruit and orange hop profile. Flavors again start out with big toffee and caramel notes, followed by big citrus rind bitterness and some spicy, peppery yeast. The body is thick and somewhat syrupy. Overall, its a decent, big, malty IIPA.

[1472-20080531] Bottle. Heavy yeast aroma is mostly hoppy grains. Hazy, dark brown amber body with a quick off-white bubbly head. Boozy yeast flavour is mostly grainy hops. Medium body is boozy. Good.

Bomber from Mckean and Charles. Pours dark orange with a 1 finger tan head. Nose is slightly sweet and hoppy. Taste is sweet and hoppy and slightly bittered. Some good citrus, this needs a bigger bite for me to really like it.

Pours dark amber into a snifter. Off-white head with medium retention recedes to skim surface leaving spot lacing. Citrus and pine aromas. Full caramel upfront with a lasting grapefruit finish. Not very well balanced.

Bomber - Poured a cloudy dark orangish-amber in color with a tight light tan head that stuck around. Some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is definitely citrus and piney hops, but there is definitely also a of sweet malts. Flavor is strong of grapefruit and citrus with a hefty amount of malt to back it up... brown sugar, caramel and the like. Finishes nicely bitter and long with a faint hint of malty sweetness at the end. I liked this one!
