So..lets see if it has twice the MJ aromatic properties...well..lol..it somehow does! Cross between the grassy herb and woody hops. Taste is quite unique as well. A cross between some earthy, floral and piney hops, with a very metallic finish. Body is light/medium, carbonation is moderate. This is really unique, tasty and interesting until you get to the dry metallic finish... nhorween (640), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 28, 2007 Growler from Bierkraft. Brownish-orange pour with a thin white head. Aroma is more mellow than I expected - hops, some sweetness, peaches, a little bit of grassiness. Good rounded flavor, with some nice sweetness to balance those hops. Good long bitter finish. Well rounded east coast IPA. Good carbonation. Really refreshing. yogster (4), Visalia, California, USA does not count | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 25, 2007 Bitterness is overwhelming ! | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 16, 2007 (22oz bottle) Medium, fluffy off-white that leaves nice lacing atop hazy amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, orange/grapefruit, caramel, some peach. Taste is mild sweet, grapefruit/pine, herbal. Dry finish. Medium body, some acidity. Not bad, but could use more malt. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 21, 2007 Actually surprisingly mild hop presence. It’s good, a little hoppier than the 420, perhaps most of the hops were added later and mostly provided their beta acids to the aroma. It’s a actually a well balanced double ipa. Not exactly what I was hoping to get, but still pretty tasty. GriffinAvenue (396), Winchester, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 17, 2007 Bottle. Deep orange in color. Muted hoppiness for what I expected coming in. Extraordinarily smooth - evokes a cross between a 60 min and 90 min, especially true given the lightly tart bite on the end. Sampled @ American Beer Fest. Kevin Watson did a nice job here - quality beer I look forward to buying.
