Commercial Description:
Brewed after Stone Coast's flagship 420 IPA, 840oz (that's 52.5 lbs) of hops were used. Dry-hopped with Liberty, Mt. Hood, and Tettnang whole hops during 5 weeks of conditioning. In addition whole Chinook hops were added after filtration. Surprisingly well-balanced, and gets better with every sip.

Excellent. one of the best IPA’s I’ve ever had. On tap at Cambridge Common. Great balance of malt and hops, and a complex depth of hoppy flavor, with lots of pine. Maybe I’m missing something, but I thought this was great, and highly underrated.

On tap at Hop Devil Grill. This is a really nice well made and intense DIPA. Not so much like a traditional west coast IPA due to the difference in hop character and the thick malt backbone, but this was still a very enjoyable beer. Deep gold, light amber body with a nice frothy lasting white head- slight haze. Aroma is powerful with lots of citrus and spicy hops, intense pine, more herbal notes and thick sweet malt in the back. Flavor is initially somewhat sticky sweet from the malt but then the hops kick in and take over. Moderate to high on the harsh bitterness from the chinook, but thats what I like. Very hoppy all the way through, and so smooth. I loved this stuff.

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Cloudy, caramel-colored ale with a mid-sized, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The malty, earthy aroma is comprised of caramel, guava and a touch of diacetyl. Flavor-wise, sweet caramel gives way to bitter grapefruit rind and a pinch of salt. Full-bodied and creamy with moderate carbonation. The lengthy, bitter-sweet finish dries out in the end. Cheers to ughsmash for this bottle of beer!

Pours a muddy amber colour with an off-white head with good retension, fading to a solid cap. The nose is off ripe grapefruit, sugar, cucumber and not much malt. The flavour reveals what little malts are there, with the same grapefruit and candied sugar found in the nose, with an aftertatse that brings out the piney, bitter hop quality. This is what a good Imperial IPA tastes like. The palate round and long. It is truly drying and intense. Wahoo.

Pours a a rich amber colour with an medium offwhite head. Aroma of grapefruit hops, heavy citrus (lemon, orange). Initial taste is a sweet malt that heavily overlayed with with a grapefruit hops. Finishing with bittter hops on the palate. Great palate duration. Great head retention and nice lacing of the glass. A great IPA.

One of the best IPAs I’ve had. Awesome hoppy flavor and smooth to boot. I’d been to their brewery last spring helping to unload them of the remnants of Sparhawk and tried some of their brews then, but this one is the best yet.
