Commercial Description:
Brewed after Stone Coast's flagship 420 IPA, 840oz (that's 52.5 lbs) of hops were used. Dry-hopped with Liberty, Mt. Hood, and Tettnang whole hops during 5 weeks of conditioning. In addition whole Chinook hops were added after filtration. Surprisingly well-balanced, and gets better with every sip.

Bottle from Yankee Spirits in Attaboro, MA. Pours a murky dark amber with a thick light beige head. Aroma of sugary malts, fruity ale esters, and leafy hops. Medium bodies with an earthy mouthfeel. This has a British like caramel toffee backbone that is countered by a very sharp, aggressive grapefruit and pine hoppiness. Finish is dry, herbal, and somewhat soapy, which clings to the palate. Decent, but the hop profile is a little rough around the edges for me.

22oz. Bottle: Aroma of floral hops, caramel malts, biscuit, grapefruit, apricots, tropical fruit, and tangerine. Poured amber in color with a mig, creamy, off-white head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of large particles throughout. Excellent lacing. Lightly sweet, light to medium bitter flavor. Tastes of hops, caramel malts, vanilla, resin, tropical fruit, tangerine, and grapefruit. Medium body. Average texture. Hoppy, resinous, citrus-fruit finish.

Courtesy Oakes and Beershine. Pours a dark orange body with a small white head that left minimal lacing behind. The aroma was of citrus fruits mainly orange and grapefruit to go with some bitter citrus hops to go with the sweet caramel malt base. The flavor follow suit with the caramel and toffee malts coming through with their sweetness to go with the big citrus hops and fruit. Medium bodied and syrupy mouthfeel round out the palate to go with a lot of carbonation. This was decent for a IIPA.

dark gold-copper. Aromatic, robust hop profile, very earthy. Interesting palate is soft with a lot of sweetness supporting the hops. I much prefer the 420 (yum) but this is fun.

22oz. bomber: This one pours a fairly clear, slightly orangish lighter amber color. A bit of an off-white head on mine. The nose is citrusy, and mainly grapefruit and a hint of orange. Maybe a hint of grassiness also. Some malts poking their head up also. The taste is good. Somewhat surprising to have some of the malt sweetness hit you first, followed by a citrus hop bite. Pretty well balanced. Nice!

Pours attractive deep copper red with decent creamy head. The nose goes way vegital with some caramel. Flavor is more caramel than hop, but oddly, not in an enjoyable way.
