Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Smells of sweet malt and mildly roasty. Tastes of roasted malt and chocolatey, but a bit thin on the mouthfeel.

12oz. Bottle (Gusher): Bottle gushed and poured almost all foam. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, hops, soy sauce, and some astringent. Poured dark brown in color with a massive, dense, rocky, coffee-ice cream-brown colored head that lasted throughout. Sparkling. Many medium-sized particles. Excellent lacing. Lightly sweet, lightly bitter flavor. Tastes of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, hops, and some pine. Medium body. Slightly thin, chalky texture. Lively carbonation. Sweet coffee, chocolate, and hop finish is dry. Annoyed I lost more than half the bottle to foam.

(Bottle). Bitter chocolate aroma. Reddish black color with huge fluffy tan head. Flavor is a delightful concoction of dark fruits, bitter chocolate, coffee, and tobacco, with significant roasty notes. Nice prolonged somewhat bitter finish. Well done.

Bottle from Smugglers Notch, VT. Black pour with a foamy, medium tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate and some vanilla. Very carbonated. Flavor is like a maltball and sweet at the start...finish ends up a bit dry and bitter. This was pretty ok.

Bottle @ the Smiths 08’. Dark brown/black pour. Sweet maltiness with cocoa and coffee in the background. Finish is dry and the mouth feel is a bit thin.

Poured a dark rich chocolaty color with a medium off-white head. Sweet taste while finishing dry and bitter from Cascade hops. Smooth and well balanced. Dryness in finish really stood out. Perfectly not overwhelming.

bottle poured into a snifter is real dark nut brown in color with minimal head and lighter carbination. aroma of sweet malt, chocolate, alcohol, and licorice. flavor has nice malts not too bitter, mouth feel is on the lighter side for a porter, and finishes with some bitterness and roasted coffee. could use a little more of something, good beer just not as good as there others have been.

Brown sugar and fruit malts in the aroma, some coffee also detectable. Dark amber color. Small tan head. Moderately sweet beginning with a slight amount of bitterness in the finish. Mild creaminess.
