Commercial Description:
Evocative of the beautiful colors of a New England autumn, say World Series season, this beer is deep amber in color. It is lightly hopped and extremely enjoyable as a lingering roasted character finishes this medium-bodied lager. Raise a glass to America’s favorite past-time and New England’s favorite pitcher.

golden translucent color; no noticeable aroma; can’t taste the maltiness of a true bock; bitter finish but without hoppy flavor.

The Knuckleball isn’t just a clever name. This beer bobs and weaves and throws a little misdirection at you, but in the end, it really doesn’t do anything. It pours a dark amber color, settling a slightly lighter hue with an off-white head. Clear body with a fully diminishing head, leaving no lacing behind. Aroma is of light, faint malts with a slight soapy character as well. Initial taste is light bitter, moving to a moderately bitter finish with an average duration. Oily in texture, with lively carbonation on the tongue, it leaves a sweet taste when finished. Reviewed in November, 2006.

12 oz bottle. Hazy amber coloured beer with a thin white head. Light pale malt aroma. No real sweetness in the flavour or much of anything else for that matter. Flavour is similar. Thin dirty malts along with corn and vegetal off-flavours. Warming brings some sourness. OK, I’ve had enough… down the drain with the remainder. Really terrible.

Golden amber color with a fast fading head. Tastes more like a cream ale than a bock beer. Sweet with no hop taste or aroma. A good swiller but not too great.

Pours a deep clear amber with a wispy tan head. Smells lightly malty, caramel and just a hint of bitter hop. Taste is again, a light caramel, light sweetness on top of the crisp lager flavors. Very carbonated and light bodied. Due to the body, it goes down easy. This is thinner than probably any bock beer I’ve tried. It really seems closer to an amber lager. Still, a decent session beer, uncomplicated and tasty.

Full taste, but not much flavor to speak of. The aftertaste is a bit off. Tim Wakefield really let me down here.

Amber body with just about no head to speak of, from the beginning and beyond. Smells equally malty and hoppy, I’d say. Tastes malty with a bitter aftertaste. Tasty and relatively pleasant, but nothing special. Their porter was much better.

Draught. Amber colord, small white head. Aroma of caramel and saccharin. Flavor is similar, a good bit thin, and a slightly astringent finish.
