Smells of pine, hay, citrus, oats, and dough. Medium, crisp, and slightly dry body. A lot of bread and barley up front, with deep grass and citrus bitterness. A strong, but nice bitter aftertaste. A lot of depth and subtlety in both the malt and hop profiles. A very nice blend of flavors. Sigmund (2299), Hafrsfjord, Norway
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Apr 14, 2009 12 fl. oz. bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.9%. Deep golden to orange colour, moderate white head. Lovely hoppy aroma, notes of citrus and tropical fruits. The zesty and fruity flavour is distinctly hoppy from start to finish, on a sufficient malty background. Ends in a grapefruity bitterness, but it is not overdone. Long bitter aftertaste. More to my liking than the Arrogant Bastard. Good stuff! mmbt7 (26), Moorhead, Minnesota, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Apr 13, 2009 Wonderful beer. About the best IPA that I have ever graced my mouth with. Thanks Stone, yet another Fantastic brew! roborb (60), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 13, 2009 Bottle poured into a regular pint glass this beer produced a hazy orange/gold color with a 2 finger head. There was some nice lacing present. The smell consisted of pine, hops, and citrus. I found the taste to be a bit of a let down as the malts far outweighed the hops. It was, however, very easy to drink and was still enjoyable. angrypirate06 (781), Texas, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 11, 2009 Fairly fresh bottle. Golden brown pour with a 1 finger white head. Aroma of floral hops, citrus, bitter smelling. Flavor is pretzels, goldfish, malts and absolutely delicious floral hops. Nice bitter astringent taste. KnutAlbert (3217), Oslo, Norway

Grassy, malty, strong, but not kick in the teeth flavour, either.
Malty sweetness in the body.
Clear gold. darn1207 (593), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 10, 2009 Rating #400 -- hard to believe I haven’t rated ths. K and I have a nice little history with this brew. went to the stone bistro and got growlers full on a san diego trip. just had a keg of it at our wedding reception. yet somehow hadn’t managed to rate it. so... hazy gold pour with a thinnish bright white head. nice blend of piney citrus hops and honey in the aroma. crisp hop bitterness right away. nearly perfect chewy light to medium texture. caramel malts back things up a bit - but this is all about the hops. great stuff. good times. smcolw (366), Wayland, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Apr 10, 2009 Golden in color, slightly cloudy in clarity, this brew lent itself to an awesome two-finger, cream colored head. The aroma is excellently balanced between the flowery (not bitter) hop and the coy, slightly sweet malt. Interestingly, this beer tasted opposite of most--the hop was up front followed by malt. The beer was balanced throughout the tasting.
This is a full body ale with wonderful carbonation. This may be the best IPA I’ve ever enjoyed. I am drawn to getting another even though I prefer variety.
