Commercial Description:
This deep amber ale has rich & roasty malt flavors, a big hoppy character, citrus overtones (courtesy of the hops and our special brewers yeast) and modest alcohol.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours clear red with a big white head with big bubbles that goes away fast. The aroma is a bit of cat pee hops mixed with earthy tea and malt. The flavor is dry and earthy hops mixed with malt which does come across like tea or tobacco a bit. A bit watery for the malt backing, but still pretty flavorful for the percentage. The palate is quite light and drinkable with nice carbonation.

Deep honey colored with a tall tan head. Aroma of honey with lemony hops. Bitter and "brown" in taste with citrus and tannic tea taste. Perhaps a bit watery, but very easy to drink. $2.5/12oz

Tap @ The Shepherd & The Knucklehead Pub. Amber pour looks like a lager. After praising stone on ruination, this is a let down. Hops do not show up at all to me, roasted and smokey malt is all i get off this. Eh!

This one poured an amber color with a an egg shell head. Aroma was slightly piney some citrus and malty as well. Flavor was a real nice mixture between flavorful hops and malts. Theres not many beers with this much great taste at such a low abv.

Draft at the Clarkston Union, pours a dark red-brown into a shaker glass with an off-white to tan head, gave lots of lacing, there are lots of bubbles flowing up the side of the glass as I drink this ale, aroma of toasted malt and hops, some caramel, flavor of toasted malt, piney hops and citrus, mouth feel is medium maybe a touch more, some hop bitterness lingers after the finish, easy to drink, a nice drink.

Bottle @ GBBF 2009. A clear copper colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. The aroma of hops, with fruits and grass. The taste of bitter hops, dry, with fruits like citrus and orange. There are grassy flavours. The aftertaste is dry bitter, with sweets.

Rating #100. Draft sampled at Cincy Beerfest. I enjoyed the heck out of this; one of the best amber ales I’ve ever tried. I can’t believe it’s only 4.4%, but that makes it the perfect session beer. Pours medium amber with average off-white head. Hops, malt, fruit, and caramel on the nose. Flavor of bitter hops, malt, citrus, caramel, brown sugar. I’m going to be hard pressed to find a better amber ale.

Cask@GBBF2009. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, grass, quite brutally bitter hopping. Flavour is grass, lots of nectar, some floral hops as well as some citrusfruity ntoes. Very good for being "only" 4.4% in ABV.
