Very surprising. Taste is big and hoppy. I had to check the label again to verify this was 4.4%abv. This is a really big beer for a session beer. Finishes very clean without an overwhleming hop note. This has got to be the little brother of Arrogant Bastard... michael-pollack (2679), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured copper/deep orange in color with a small, tan head that lasted throughout. Clear. Slightly sparkling. Good lacing. Flavor is light to medium bitter and lightly sweet. Tastes of hops, pine, grapefruit, and pale malts. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Light to medium bitter, grapefruit, pine, and hop finish. It’s lacking something. rmussman (905), California, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 16, 2009 Brewed in the USA...... Courtesy of The Capt, thanks Mark. Pours brown amber color with a thin white head. Aroma of citrus, hops, malts and toffee. The taste has a grapefruit flavor with some hops, bread, malts and pepper. The mouthfeel is zesty with some wonderful carbonation, hoppy bitterness and is well balanced. This would be absolutely essential for those hot summer nights. NachlamSie (1637), Tennessee, USA

Bottle. Pours a clear, clean red wit a great, foamy, well-built head. The aroma has ample but not obnoxious grapefruity hops with hints of biscuits and lemons. This is a mellow and light beer, but flavorful and balanced. There is just enough citrusy hops, biscuity malts, and bread. This is one supreme session beer. At only 4.4% abv, this has a really appealing and well balanced flavor. Think Arrogant Bastard Lite. This is pretty much it. TheCaptain (555), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 13, 2009 Bottle from case. A dark amber-wood pour, clear with small foam head. Aroma of light citrus hops and some roasted grain. Great blend of hops and malt grain roast on the palate, some pepper or clove and a hop/yeast zing that spices it up. Great drinker. glennmastrange (857), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 12, 2009 Bottle. Moderate note of roasted for the malt, moderate to heavy pine for the hops, moderate leather, with faint hints of brown sugar and vanilla. Head is average size, frothy, slightly off-white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear dark copper. Flavor starts and finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery and has a lively carbonation. A pretty good amber Ale, but a little bit of sweetness would have balanced this to perfection. kassner (450), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA
