Nose is nice with citrus and floral hops. Flavor is dry with pine, citrus, slight grapefruit, a touch of roast and a finishing carbonation tang. Palate is lightly malty with a good carbonation tang to it. Overall an enjoyable beer that is easy to drink and has some great flavors. TwoDudes (77), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 1, 2008 On tap at Flanagan’s Ale House. I’d never had this before, as it is not available in KY. But, it was still on after last Thursday’s Stone promo with Greg. Anyway, nice citrusy nose. Clear beautiful amber color. Medium bodied, with nice blanace of roasty malts and spicy hops. Immensely drinkable. Indulgence (141), Ajo, Arizona, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Sep 30, 2008 An amazing beer for only 4.4 per cent ABV, it has color, flavor and appearance, probably one of the best and most flavorful under 5% beers. Pours a dark red amber with a brooding head, lacing abounds, flavors are hops, and caramalized malts, palate is thinner than other Stones, but stronger than some of the other beers available. Great picnic beer. Nik925 (305), California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 29, 2008 Good bitterness, bold malt flavor (esp for a 4.4 abv) notes of cherries come out between the malt and hops. A good hop flavor (what you expect from stone) but while the flavors are strong, they are a bit thin and unfinished.
If the style Light Amber existed, this could be top of the pile, but its scored properly in the middle. nqualls (1428), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 27, 2008 Bottle. Poured a brown color with a small off white head. Aroma of sweet malt and earth. Flavor is sweet malt with a good balance of hops for the style. Thin body with good carbonation. drjay44 (819), Salida, Colorado, USA

Pours a nice happy rapidly collapsing head, pleasant brownish cloudy colors....nose of mild malts, bit of hops....palate is light, with some sensation of both malts and hops, rather light in character, but within that nicely balanced. Chugarrifffic! Not complicated, just tasty. I want more for the everyday drinking.. SuperDave70 (1158), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 31, 2008 What’s this? An amber I could actually give a crap about? Say it ain’t so!
Pours a deep amber color with a creamy tan head that melts away slowly leaving some drippy lacing. Aroma of roasted nutty malt, pine hops, and citrus. Flavor is similar, with not overly sweet malt and a nice hoppy bite. A bit thin on the palate, but the prickly carbonation helps make up for that. Seriously not bad at all, which is a bit of a surprise for me in this category.
