Commercial Description:
This deep amber ale has rich & roasty malt flavors, a big hoppy character, citrus overtones (courtesy of the hops and our special brewers yeast) and modest alcohol.

Pours a slightly hazy ruby with no head and a lovely hoppy sweet aroma. Plenty of sweet malt flavour, oily hop but without the bitterness, and an odd chinotto-like cola finish. Quite carbonated, thin body. Not sure what to make of this... not really roasty at all, plenty of citrus but no bitter kick to the hops. Interesting beer, I will have to try it again.

Bottle. Enjoy by: 10/15/09. Pours a slightly murky rust color with a decent-sized khaki head. Aroma is of resiny pine and grapefruits with some caramel in the background. Medium body. Excellent balance taste-wise. There is an earthy maltiness with a good bit of caramel upfront. Semi-harsh grapefruity flavors finish things off. Some lingering dryness. I’m pleasantly surprised at the amount of flavor/body in this beer considering the rather low ABV. A very solid session brew.

Growler. Pours a nice, light amber-red hue with a fine, white head. Nose is hoppy with some malt undertones. Flavor is decently rich with nice character of lightly roasted malts and a kick of hops on the tail. Crisp, bittersweet finish. Quite tasty.

Bottle/12 - Poured a dark amber in color with a small off-white head that settled to a very thin covering over the beer. Aroma was quite hoppy (pine resin) with a small malty roastiness that filled everything in. Flavor was mostly hoppy and bitter with a undercurrent of medium roasted malts. Finish was lingering and mostly bitter with the hint of roastiness. Mellow, drinkable... very good...

Chicken soup consistency in a ruby amber body with a large cratered tan head that peters away in due time and leaves rocky ring lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, tangerine, citrus, sweet malt and mild biscuit. Thin bodied concoction very little flavor with malt and mild citrus that end up moderately bitter and coat the tongue with a mild off flavor.

12oz bottle. Pours a nice copper color with a big creamy head that holds well. The smell is pretty much all hops with just a trace of malt sweetness and slight notes of citrus. The initial flavor is hoppy with a clean smooth character that cuts the malt sweetness which only appears at the end. Lightish in body and mild carbonation.
