doubleo (749), San Diego, California, USA Dec 30, 2007 12oz bottle. This brew pours a deep brownish red color. Thinnish white head that hangs out for awhile but leaves only minimal lace. Has a great aroma of big malts with a strong hop backbone. Almost smells like an IPA except for the malts. What a tasty beer for being 4.4%abv. Like the last reviewer said this beer could easily be some sort of amber IPA if it weren’t for the great malt flavors. The hops are there though, nice and bitter but with a nice bit of sweetness to go along with it. Not thick at all, nice and smooth with good carboantion. Lots of grains on the back of the tongue. I really enjoyed this beer, but I prefer something with a little more bang (abv) for my buck. Although I can get a 1l comm growler fill for $3 so thats pretty darn affordable.
EricE (225), Beltsville, Maryland, USA Aug 28, 2008 Red brown clear pour with a thin white head. Fruity hop aroma. Malty flavor with a strong citrus hop character. Slight sweet with a bitter hop finish. dlovell2 (109), Columbia, Maryland, USA Aug 27, 2008 Amber color with white head. Pine aroma. Very dry beer. Hops taste of pine but flavor does not linger in after taste. This beer was ok. 1_2many (220), Ohio, USA Aug 26, 2008 Alefest sample. Aroma is decent with plenty of pine and citrus hops but this was lacking on flavor. Feels watery and with low carbonation. Decent but disappointing. AndyReynolds (55), Wilder, Kentucky, USA Aug 26, 2008 Poured a golden color with a thick white head. The aroma was hoppy with hints of pine and grass. Everything was awesome about this beer until it went in my mouth. It tasted very flat and watered down. It was almost trying to be an IPA, but couldn’t pull it off. ewestern (81), Ohio, USA Aug 25, 2008 Starts with a nice creme colored head atop a deep golden-amber beer. Slightly yeasty aroma that could have been stronger. Tasted flat with some hops, had a watery feel to it and a bitter finish.
