Clear dark red color in the first pour, cloudy in the last. Smallish tan to orange head. Sweet, malty, grainy, alcohol scent. Spicy, alcohol, malty taste. Grainy and some chocolate aftertaste. Warming alcohol. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness.

Jun 22, 2009 Pours dark red/brown with a dissipating brownish head.A nice and complex aroma, with different malty notes, some herbal/spice and fruit.Floral hoppy.
Some bitterness can’t hide the moderately spicy character.Malt sweet/roast too.Good complexity.
A full bodied beer
and very nice.

Jun 22, 2009 Orangeish brown, thin head. Malty, spicy aroma with big sage and seeming cinnamon, even some cherry and mintyness. Very nuanced and difficult to pull apart. Flavor is initially quite sweet and then turns to some herbal bitterness. The juniper berries really start to come through in the flavor. Malt profile is vaguely barleywine-like with a bit of roastedness, but the herbal additions predominate. Certainly adequate bittering, but has a bit of a cooling aspect to it. Definitely original and well done.

Jun 21, 2009 Bottle at Olympen, Oslo. Dark brown with a dense offwhite head. Super complex and spicy nose with lots of fruit, chocolate, spices and juniper notes. Indescribable, nutty, chocolate, cocoa, spices and fruit flavours. An explosion of flavours. State of the art.

Jun 21, 2009 Bottle. 355ml - Semi hazy beer with a small fizzy beige head. Aroma is very sweet with notes of a mix of old classic herbs, juniper, ginger and caraway. Flavor is rather sweet with notes of juniper, licorice root and herbs. Medium bodied with a dry bitter end. Starts real nice but the end is not as satisfying.

Dark brown with a medium, beige, brief head.
Very spicy aroma with juniper-berries and sweet oranges.
Thick an oily mouthfeel.
Salmiak, juniper-berries, spicy flavour; pepper, nutmeg and wormwood, with full maltiness.
A bit too spicy in my opinion, but funny and, after all, pretty well balanced
