| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 15, 2009 Bottle. The color is dark brownish with a small head. Interesting aroma of wine gum, mint, orange, nuts and ginger.
The taste is very spicy, liquid felt a bit oily. The beer felt a little like port wine. Medium body. The alcohol warmed nicely. tarheels86 (751), Washington DC, USA

gingerbread, currants, rosemary, licorice, and Mt Gay reserve rum- like rum soaked pumpkin pie. Taste is insane. One person said, "What the
hell?" Another said, "It’s like drinking jagermeister." There is a lot of cinnamon and rosemary spice with big licorice but it’s infinitely smooth. Great creamy palate. mjs (1484), Helsinki, Finland

Spices, juniper and hops in aroma. Medium bodied palate with medium carbonation. Liquorice, malts, lightly roastedness, juniper and bitterness in taste. Juniper, spices and bitterness in aftertaste. Quite complex beer with all the spices but it did work. gunnfryd (3590), Kristiansand, Norway

Full of punch and a really great holiday beer. Just in time for fall. Overall the complexity of the spices, including lots of nutmeg and juniper were very crisp. Nice brew. thewolf (5744), Kolding, Denmark

Looks exceptionally oily as its poured. A lovely chestnut brown with a fine, creamy, off-white head that stays for quite some time. Nice spicy aroma. Light peppermint, hazelnuts, chestnuts, holly, caramel, light roasted and a touch of vanilla. Lowish carbonation, impressive oily mouthfeel. Flavour is lovely. Ginger, hazel, chestnuts, roasted malts, chocolate, vinous, coriander, thyme, pine, juniper. Really wonderfully balanced spiced ale with just the right amount of sweetness at first and bitterness in the finish. Really lovely. piscator34 (1125), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 3, 2009 Bottled sample via and shared with oakbluff. Chestnut in colour with moderate carbonation. Aromas of nutmeg, ginger, juniper, menthol, cinnamon, and pale malts. Gummy-like thickness balances out the spice notes in the mouth with more ginger and juniper, sage honey, wintergreen, and spicy malted rye. Hides its abv very well. No one spice seems to dominate the brew, which gives it a great complexity. Great brew
