22oz bottle, 2009 release. Pours golden amber with a small head. Smell of malts and alcohol. Flavor is characteristically malty at first, but then the bitter hops dominate on the way down. Spicy with dark and citrus fruit. Alcohol is well hidden. Some aging would balance the bitter flavor profile, but it’s very good fresh.

On draft at Teresa’s. 2007 vintage. Poured hazy orange in a tulip glass that left some solid lacing. Flavor of sweet caramel that evolved into a strong citrus bite. Lots of bittering citrus to finish. Spicy, peppery tones as well. Nice alcohol bite.

600ml Bottle shared with Pyrozoid and French Tickler. Hazy semi clear with a bubblely off white head. Aroma: hops, orange zest, spruce, grape fruit, mint and green bananas. Flavor: hops, pine, peppery, alcohol and grass. Palate: medium to full body, average carbonation, creamy, oily with an alcohol, hoppy peppery finish.

Bought it at a wonderful liquor store near Dadeland. Impressive. Pours a mahogany color with a nice tan head. Medium bodied, sweet from the malts however it is well balanced with the hops. MAybe one of the best Barley Wines i’ve had so far.
