The aroma was strong and promising but upon tasting I couldnt help but be surprised with an overbearing sweetness and some burning alcohol on the finish. If I werent splitting this with a friend im not sure I would be able to finish this. ilovedarkbeer (1333), Dallas, Texas, USA

I like all my beer warm and flat in a brandy sniffer. usually warm it up with my hands and let it sit for a bit... i spend some time with it. great front side and top of the tongue flavor, leaves a slight bitterness at the back. jhagmar (114), Gothenburg, Sweden
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | Nov 30, 2008 Bottle 65 cl. Hazy amber with a small off-white head. Lots of malt - caramel, bread and some raisins. Fruity notes of peach. Quite some hops as well. Grapefruit aroma revealed on tasting. The flavor is initally sweet, leaving way to a long-lingering, subtle bitterness. The mouthfeel is burning with stinging carbonation. thebeertourist (2777), Oslo, Norway

The smell remindes of an old cellar.
Red and clear.
A bit rough in taste and to much alcohol, like barley wines often are when young. But I think it has potential and will mature well! larsniclas (3383), Gothenburg, Sweden

Poured with no head, although it left faint lacing all the way through the pint (!). Lots of malt, with the underlying hops making their presence felt as it slides down the back of the throat. Stone never make a bad drop, even if I’m not in love with the marketing style of theirs
