22oz bottle. Vintage 2007. Pours cloudy, dark amber with a good sized, tan head, good lace. Smells big and sweet, caramelly malty. Lots of alcohol as well. Tastes of alcohol and sweet, syrupy caramel malts and some hop spice. Full body, good carbonation.
2004. on-tap at Naja’s a couple months back. Pours hazy orange with a thin white head, specks of lace. Smells malty and caramelly sweet with a slight hop spice. Tastes boozy, followed by sweet malts and a slight hop spiciness. Full body, decent carbonation. 836315=3.5

Pours amber, beige head. Aroma is malty / caramel with light hop. Taste, just an amazing barley, plenty of sweetness (sugar), and nice caramel malts accompanied by nice fruit notes. Leaves a light toffe mouthfeel, with a small lingering bitter hop finish.

22 oz. bomber poured into a snifter. Pours a hazy, amber-orange color with a foamy off-white head that dissipates quickly. Fair lacing. Aroma is a strong malty sweetness, some caramel, raisins, and alcohol. Flavor is initially a strong, sweet maltiness followed by a hop bitterness. Alcohol is quite noticeable. Hints of pepper. Full bodied. Long, bitter finish.

2008 Vintage. Pours a hazy opaque amber honey color. The head is a thick butterscotch color with a little bit of lacing. Sort of fizzy and disappears after a few seconds. The aroma is a sweet malty caramel with some musty hops and alcohol. The flavor has some mild hops but it is still really hot. Has a rich toffee and creamy caramel. The palate seems like this could be poured over ice cream. Nicely balanced and I’m sure it will be outstanding with a couple of years on it.

Bottled early 2008 release. Pours a beautiful red copper. Thick frothy off white head with nice lacing. Aroma is licorice, fruity, pine and resinous hops. Flavor is caramel and toffee, molasses, licorice, pine, and phenols. Palate is smooth. The alcohol isn’t overpowering or really disguised, but well suited to the overall taste. Really strong flavor and well balanced. Finish is resinous and bitter but not cloying, and dry. Very good.

22 oz bottle of the ’’Limited Early 2008’’ release. Pours cloudy reddish brown with a creamy light tan colored head. Aroma has sweet caramel malts with a dried fruit backing and light hops. Flavor is actually quite hoppy with lasting bitterness combined with a nice warming roasted malt and alcohol finish. Nice full bodied warming beer.

Hazy orange beer with a minimal head. Lacing isn’t anything to write home about. Aroma is of grapefruit hops. Flavor is cascade dominated as well, with the malt supplying a nice caramel note to it. Palate is almost perfect. Soft full body, with the right amount of carbonation. With the hops supplying a dry, bitter end, you wouldn’t think this is a 10%+ beer. Very good.
