Clear amber color with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, fruit and hops. Flavor of caramel malt and hops. Finish is long with a tangy hop bitterness.

’04 tap tasted at stone winter storm last december. An 8 oz poor and a surprisingly large head for being in the keg so long. Reddish color with creamy head. Huge fruity aroma, wirh alc and doughy malt notes. Med to large body with little carb. Flavor was surpisingly subdued with soft malt sweetness and that characteristic none hoppiness of an aged barley wine.

Tap... Poured ruby with a frothy white head. Floral aroma with a hint of alcohol. The alcohol is pretty well hidden in the initial flavor by the candy and bubble gum malt flavors. Dry hops follow up with a touch of warming alcohol in the aftertaste. Really smooth and relaxing.

Early 2006 - Amber body with golden edge, yellow head; Very beautiful nose, needs a bit more fill to be perfect to me, lots of overripe tangerine, earthy dry/dry soil, dry pepper as well as some toffee as aromas, the alcohol is shining trough just a bit; The body is almost flat, soft textured, a bit thin, a little sweet together with a very little salt; Medium long finish with some aromas, simpler then nose though: Tangerine, toffee, it is a little bitter and a little harsh, the texture and fill is again a little to thin. Another well made beer from Stone. Thanks Numenor!

22 oz. Early 2008 release. Pours an dark orange oclor with a small white head. Aroma is citrus, hops, caramel, slightly sweet. Flavor has a strong malt flavor, but is balanced by the hops. It has a nice floral hop finish. The alcohol is well hidden for a beer that’s over 11%.

Amber/otrange color, with a faoirly large head. Aromas are sweet malt, fruit, and bread dough. Taste is sweet and fruity at first, then turns sharp and bitter. Aging a while should help this one. Thanks to Sick_boy282 for including this as an extra in our last trade.

Beer pours quite orange in color with a medium sized off white head that is somewhat retained. Aroma is not huge by barleywine standards. Hints of toffee, ash, and alcohol. Flavor is where the action really picks up. Flavor is malty sweet on the front side, but the finish is the real eye opener. One of the strongest blast of grapefruit juice ever in the finish. Me thinks will definetely benefit from the cellar.

Bottle from early 08 release. Pours a hazy orange/bronze colour with a foamy off-white head. Nice lacing. Aroma of piney hops, sugar and pineapples. Big flavours of both malt and hops with an alcohol bite in the finish. Tastes pretty hot. Decent barley wine, maybe it will better with age.
