Bottle thanks to rallison, I think. Thanks, buddy. Aged about 18 months. Impressive pour--hazy bright orange-copper with one-finger off-white head. Still some citric hops on the nose as well as fruity malts. Not just a caramel bomb, though it’s there along with some vanilla notes. Hops still there, even after 18 months; makes me want to try it fresh, though I bet it might be more harsh/boozy. As it is now, it’s great. Light, smooth, slick carbonation and palate. Quite good American take on a barley wine.

04 on tap at Falling Rock Tap House. I was super dissappointed in this brew. So much so that i picked up a bottle at the store convinced that I had a bad batch. Will rerate when I try again. hazy peach/amber pour iwth thick creamy head. big malt aroma, fruity, cardboard, sugar, appricot, musky, and mild earthy hops. very tart(makes you pucker), rediculous bitterness that hits immediately. earthy, musky maltiness, wet paper, dark fruit. Couldn’t finish the pint.

Had this at Vail Beer Fest. 2-oz. sample in a snifter. Beer poured a hazy medium honey-brown color without any head. The aroma was moderately hoppy with notes of grapefruit and pine / resin and moderately yeasty with a note of fresh bread. There were also light notes of honey, black tea and pear. Pretty interesting. The flavor was moderately sweet and lightly bitter with a long, lightly sweet heavily bitter finish. The body was medium-to-full the texture was creamy and the carbonation was lively. The alcohol is quite well hidden in both the aroma and palate.

Clear amber color with very little head. Sweet aroma of malt, caramel and alcohol. Initial big hop presence, followed by a sweet malt, caramel flavor. Alcohol is very noticeable. Very good now, should be excellent in a couple of years.

Sheez, gotta say thatmthe fruit and hops here could have used a year or two of aging.Still,I liked the hoppiness thru’ all the rawness.I have a few to age.

Bottle. Pours orange apricot gold with a white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is caramel, toffee, and mango. Flavor is pretty complex and sticky: mango, caramel, wheat, apricot. Has a bitter kick, partially alcohol, partially hops? Wow.

2008 Release. Cloudy orange with little head and no lacing. Starts malty and then the hops really come prancing through. Floral, grapefruit mixed with raisins and plums. Sweet and approachable with good alcohol coming through. Enjoyed.
