Commercial Description:
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Bottle. Poured amber with small head, short retention. Aroma is strong hoppy grapefruits.Taste is hoppy, quite bitter on the finish. A bit grassy. A bit warm on the finish. Very long bitterness on the finish also. Palate is average carbonation. Overall it is quite bitter and tasty. Well made but maybe not my holy grail as it is for some.

22 oz bottle purchased at New Beer Distributors. Pours a cloudy, deep orange colour with a thick, quickly dissipating white head. Aroma of pine, flowery hops, grapefruit, grassy notes, malts, and citrus. Flavour is the same as the aroma. Has a dry, bitter finish.

The picture on the left, is exactly how this beer looks. Honestly, it was as if a hop flower pissed in my cup. Though not nearly as brutal as the length description may suggest, the bitterness and citrus flavors shine from this Double IPA gem. Though, I believe a bit more malt presence could have put this delicate hop concoction in the Top 3 DIPAS.

Sample at Rozi’s Wine House Stone Brewing Co. Straight warm hops and sweet aroma. Warm yellow color with off-white head. Very bitter and almost a pinesol aftertaste but surprising not unpleasant. Very nice IPA.

12 ounce bottle received from Illini08 in a trade. Thanks, Jeremy! Every brew that I have had from Stone has been excellent so I was really excited to try this one. It pours a beautiful golden color with a one finger width white head that sticks around for a while. The head left excellent lacing on the side of the glass. The aroma is fairly typical for an IPA... hops, citrus, pine, with some spice in the background. The taste really separates this IPA from others... it has the usual hop, citrus, and pine flavors but finishes with a very pleasant bitter hop aftertaste. I also loved the drinkability of this brew... very sessionable. Overall an excellent IPA and one that I would definitely seek out again!

Bottled. Clear orange color, short head. Aroma of hops, pine, hint of strawberry. Soft hoppy taste, although ofcourse it ruins your palate. Perfect balance. Give me more of this stuff!
