Commercial Description:
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

12 oz. bottle - Pours a murky copper color with small off white head. Aroma is incredible... I get so excited when I first crack open a bottle and smell it instantly. A resin hop aroma that can’t be beat. Flavor is bitter which I love also som citrus, grapefruit and pungent aged cheese aftertaste. This is the best IPA I have had, this brew rocks and highly recomend if you love HOPS !!!!! I am adding to my rating due to the fact that this beer is perfection. I recently have had 4 or 5 6 pacs over the course of a few weeks and enjoy each beer more than the last !! I have had Hop Wallop and many other IPA’s but none compare to the Ruination !!! rerate 8/11/09 - I bought a six pac from different liqour store 3 months ago and this Ruination poured clear and not cloudy like I was accustomed to. It tasted strange and did not care for. I then bought a 6 pac from my usual place and it poured cloudy and tasted awesome like I remember. So if you get Ruination and it pours clear its probably going to suck!!

Bottle. Pours amber, smells citrus and piney. Intense hoppiness does ruin the palate just as promised once consumed. The sort of beer that must be consumed with no other beers. Not my favorite but still a solid brew.

Poured from a 22oz bottle. Poured an Amber almost Caramel color - nice head and long lacing. Scents of pine and grapefruit. Very hoppy and great aftertaste. Extremely drinkable!

intense pine aromas. Pours a clear golden blonde with a thick white head. Intense piney hop flavors, sticky, resiny flavors with hints of bitter citrus peels and some sweet malts lurking beneath the pine sap. It reminds me of Double Simcoe.

Bitter. it’s like I’m chewing hops, I really like it haha. Has a slight after taste of alcohol. They don’t carry this aroung my parts often, I’m glad I ran into it. ship more to texas!

Bottled. Pours clear copper with nice head. Aroma is citric and resinous clover honey, finished with sweet malt; much sweeter than I was expecting. Flavor is mellifluous and coniferous with a bitter malty bite at the end. Much better balance than I was expecting. Finish is resinous and dry; the bitterness lingers but isn’t overpowering. Palate is pretty smooth and not too carbonated. Good beer.

(Bomber at home on October 26, 2008) Superb head! I love it... it’s actually billowing a half inch above the top of my mug! Cloudy orange IPA-color. Aroma is seriously hoppy. So much so it’s almost smoky. Flavor... well, a typical double/imperial IPA. My taste buds are by no means ruined, as the brewer description suggests. In fact, I can think of many IPAs that are harsher than this that are still tolerable. Don’t always believe the commercially-written hype, I suppose is the moral of this story. But all of that behind us, this is a pretty good beer. No aftertaste (for a double IPA, at least). Light body. Easy to drink. Not too bitter that you’re forced to make a face, but at the same time strong. A well-balanced concoction, Stone.
