| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 24, 2009 Bottle. Hazy light orange pour. White clingy head. Massive pine and citrus hip aroma and taste. Very bitter - could have a little more malt backing. GrungyBob (37), Kettering, Ohio, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 24, 2009 Bottle, pous alight hazy amber with sofy white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma, Huge pine and citrus and somesoft fruity sweetness. Taste, softsweetness mixed with strong pine and citrus hops. The hops overpower, tart grapefruit finish leaves dry mouth and hops linger and continue to turn your face inside out. I love it. JulienHuxley (234), Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 23, 2009 Bottle. Clear gold pour with some white head. Lots of very hoppy aromas, the usual pine and grapefruit all-american nose. Taste is very much the same pine-sol and alcohol. A nice interlude in an otherwise all belgian night. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 19, 2009 Bottle. Very good beer. Love the bitter. As others have commented, great color and aroma. I would prefer a fuller body on the palate. A bit thin for me, but a nice clean finish. Would enjoy this on a warm day with a burger or steak. Kestral (210), Oslo, Norway
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Dec 15, 2009 Bottle at Olympen. Pours a medium to dark orange with a finger of creamy, soapy white head. Aroma is very hoppy. Resin, spruce, grapefruit, passion fruit, slightly perfumy, some alcohol. It has got this odd chemical note. Can’t pin it down, but it smells like something from the lab at work. Doesn’t quite fit in. The first sip was surprisingly unruinous. Perhaps because I just had Avery IPA. It is bitter, yes, but I wasn’t shocked or anything. The malts struggle hard to keep the hops from going overboard. Carbonation is fittingly sparkly. Not bad, but lacks that specialy something. Leighton (302), New York, New York, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Dec 14, 2009 Growler. A true leader in the category of the IPA. Pours a clear, golden-orange with a fine, pure white head. The innocuous appearance doesn’t prepare the drinker for the journey that follows. Huge hop aroma with big notes of orange, grapefruit and pine. Flavor accentuates the hop character. Piney and resiney, this brew wallops the taste buds with intense hops bitterness. Some sweet malts enter the fore to offset the bitterness, Dry, hoppy, lip-smacking, sticky finish. A must-drink for the hop-heads out there. Blake (223), Orange, California, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 13, 2009 Easily among my favorite IPAs. This Stone Brew holds nothing back and hits you again and again with hop flavors. Pours a beautiful golden color with slight lacing and good carbonation, the first and last thing you’ll smell is the wonderfully floral aroma of hops. There really is nothing better with a good steak or on a hot day than a beer as full of flavor and hops as this masterpiece from Stone Brewing. ttutony (92), Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 13, 2009 Golden color in the glass. Intense hop aromas jump out at you as soon as you begin to pour the beer. Very bold hops throughout.
