| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 3, 2009 Bomber from the local. Pours a bright golden amber with a thick cottony head on top that leaves sudsy lacing. Piney, citrus, florally notes hit my nose before I dive into this one. A hop lover’s dream, the flavor is similar to the aroma with a tiny bit of caramel malt sticking out. Intense bitter hops from beginning to end, nice! Botnik (110), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 2, 2009 22oz bottle. Slightly cloudy pale amber with an excellent long lasting head. Perhaps my taste has been dulled by the many over-hopped IPAs I’ve tried recently, but this one was not especially bitter. Still I was pleased with its balanced taste and silky foam head. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 1, 2009 750ml: tulip: Palate Wrecker!!! 2nd beer during Thxgvng dinner... the whole family partook in the delicousness! The nose is straight up hops, killer, oily, sweaty and glorious. This is what pours from the bladder of the gods!!! A sweaty, snowboarding, marathon running, mountain climbing type sweat. Stings the nostrils! The taste is much of the same... no deviation from the hops here folks, no bright and shiny grapefruit, lavender or fairy wings... just good old fashioned hops... maybe some ground viking bones. After drinking this, the turkey tasted like water, sweet potatoes like water, and the stuffing... you get the point. Finishes dry and crisp and deeply and satisfyingly bitter! Goooooo Stone! | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 30, 2009 A: Poured with an average-sized, white head that was quite frothy and long-lasting. Body is a nice, light orange color, and cloudy.
S: Mmmm... this is a damned fine smelling beer! Very heavy on the hops, with some slight pine and lots of lemon/lime citrus to the aroma as well. I could smell it all day if I didn’t want to drink it so badly.
T: Just as awesome as it smells. Nice balance of citrus with the heavy bitterness in the hops; but, oddly enough, I didn’t find the hops overpowering, even with a claimed 100+ IBUs. It went down quite easy for such a strong, hoppy beer.
M: Light-to-medium bodied, with a creamy texture and average carbonation.
D: A fantastic beer... one of the best DIPAs I’ve ever had. God, how I wish I had regular access to this beer. Dangerously easy to drink! coldmeat23 (233), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 24, 2009 Nice medium-hued, golden honey color, with a slight hint of amber. Big, three-fingered, head of fluffy white foam. Retention is very good and lacing is clumpy and sticky.
Smell is pure hops. Big citrus hops mix it up with a more mild pine presence. Big notes of grapefruit. Slight hint of caramel malt sweetness.
Hop City, we have arrived. Big presence of grapefruit and pine, alike. Citrus hops abound. Big bitter bite, especially in the aftertaste. Sweet malty presence attempts to come through, on the mid-pallette, but gets pummeled back down.
Smooth and easy to drink, with a slight sharp edge to it.
As long as you aren’t afraid of hops, this is a tasty, easy to drink, beer.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 23, 2009 Bottle. Poured dark amber with a thin off white head. Aroma was full of hops, mainly citrus and piney. Flavor had very similar notes to that of the aroma with the citrus being the most present. yinzerbeernut (58), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 22, 2009 Hazy amber pour with a white head that disappears yet clings to the sides of the glass. Scents of hops galore greet the nose compounded with a bountiful floral bouquet. Smooth balanced medium mouthfeel that treats you to plenty hop flavor coupled with a sweet citrus up front. The finish is strong and lasts throughout your mouth leaving you with an almost chewy yet chalky taste.
