Ungstrup (11151), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 21, 2004 A red-brown beer with a disappearing brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of chocolate, but not much smoke compared to a Bamberg beer. The flavor is dry, slighty sour but also sweet and with light notes of chocolate. The end is quite roasty. I can’t detect the smoke, but it is a nice porter. omhper (10456), Stockholm, Sweden May 20, 2002 Really dark brown. Hints of licorice and smoke in the aroma. Medium bodied, somewhat roasty, slightly malt sweet with bitter finish. Only a hint ofg smoke, I would have expected this beer to be more aggresive, but it is rather well balanced. Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 19, 2007 (Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a clear, chestnut brown with a warm, reddish glow and a dense, beige head leaving some laces. Lightly sweet, roasted malt with a wee whiff of dried fruit. Medium body, lightly burned malt accents with a bitter finish. Very little smoke to be detected. 150807 Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Dec 3, 2000 Chocolatey, dry, with good complexity and balance, but only a touch of smoke. yespr (6400), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 22, 2007 1 pt 6 fl oz.
