prosqtor (407), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Jul 8, 2008 Beerfest in Chilton. Dark brown, malty, smooth. Nice but nothing outstanding. Skyview (2768), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA May 19, 2008 Served on draught at the Wisconsin Micro-brewers Beerfest in Chilton, Wisconsin. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a slow dissipating beige head that has some nice lacing. Aroma of toasted dark malt, some oatmeal, dark chocolate, some coffee and a touch of molasses. Taste is smooth, toasty malt with a good balance of chocolate and coffee character. Finish has a toasted malt aftertaste that slowly disappears. Nice profile for this brewpub’s dry stout. shendrix (435), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Feb 18, 2008 An altogether enjoyable brew, with a creamy oat nose, mingling with caramel, as it sits deep and dark in the glass with a teasingly effervescent butterscotch head. The first sip releases coca cola, oats, barley and caramel all rolling together with s nicely understated alcohol warmth against a coffee and chocolate base. Ughsmash (2958), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jan 8, 2008 On tap at Stonefly. Poured very deep garnety-brown with a nice cap of yellowy-tan head. The aroma picked up lightly-roasted chocolate, coffee, and caramel… sweet overall with a touch of herbal accent.. rather simple, but quite nice. The flavor had caramel and chocolate on the sweet base.. lightly-roasted.. grainy chocolate and coffee on the finish, along with a bit of tea and cocoa.. bitter-sweet finish.. tasty. Lighter-bodied on the palate with OK balance & flow. JPDIPSO (4210), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Apr 24, 2007 Nearly opaque dark brown brew with a light tan head of cascading bubbles. Big roasted malt and light cocoa scents. Nothing complex, but certainly nothing wrong with it. Dry mocha flavors. A touch astringent, but a crisp dry stout. Longer dry roast linger.
