Sep 10, 2009 Bottle (courtesy of joss!): Very deep amber coloured, clear, with a medium-sized stable off-white head; distinctive fruity (dried fruits - that’s understood), almondy and dark-malty nose; solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied, smooth; lingering roasty-sweetish finish. Good, easy-drinking Doppelbock..........

Sep 3, 2009 (bottle) Clear, dark brown colour with a beige medium-sized foamy head. Sweet toast-malty aroma with notes of anise, caramel, bread crusts and shy herbal hops. Sweet flavour, full bodied with a smooth and pleasant carbonation. Robust toast-malty base with notes of anise and caramel. Sweet but not too fat malty finish 02.IX.09

Apr 20, 2009 Bottle. Fairly fruity nose: Apples, strawberries and plums in rum.
Chestnut, offwhite layer. Rumcake entry, apples, berries, honey, light chocolate - quite delicious desertlike flavours. The fruity sweetness is well offset by dry roast and hop bitterness. Medium chewy body, mellow mouthfeel. Good Doppelbock!
