| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 28, 2003 This brew poured a small head of fine to medium sized light brown colored mostly diminishing bubbles that left behind afair lacing and a hazy brown colored body. Its aroma was mildlt malted and its mouthfeel was smooth. The flavor is mildly malted with some spice added in for excitement along with the dull bready yeasty flavor. hotstuff (3183), Indiana, USA

Very sour at the start with nutty and toffee flavors following. Similar to a Flanders Red, but in a bad way. michael-pollack (2753), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

Sparkling clear mohogany brew. Small, fizzy, lightly-tanned head is quickly and fully dissipating.
Very complex aroma. Tons of malt and yeast induced notes. Belgian chocolate, candy sugar, prunes, raisins and other dark fruits, toffee, butterscotch, caramel and pistachios.
The flavor is of overripe bananas, light sourgham molasses, dark raisins, English toffee, butter and plums up front. Nicely balanced with a lightly tart and barely bitter hop and yeast presence along with a touch of alcohol on the backside.
Full-bodied with a buttery mouthfeel and light carbonation. Long, very lightly bitter and pungent finish. Leaves a numb feeling (or lack thereof) on the tongue. I am now officially a big fan of Stoudts Brewing Co. I've enjoyed every beer I've tried from them. This one is no exception. Recommended! freekyp (906), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA
