Commercial Description:
This uniquely American beer offers a crisp, medium-body with a light amber color. It is assertively hopped with Pacific Northwest Cascades for a firm bitterness and delightfully floral aroma.

Bottle at Stuff Yer Face in New Brunswick. No glass so I can’t rate on pour. Shame. From what I could get from the aroma. Lots of hops and citrus. Flavor had a nice ctirus hoppiness with a bit of malt. Nice texture. Very refreshing. Beautifully balanced. Really liked this brew. Reminds me of SNPA.Will have it again.

Surprised to not see this rated higher. The hops are citrusy, grapefruit and lemony but very subdued. You can taste the hops first and last, though the beer is not very bitter. Very balanced. Crisp indeed. Great APA.

12oz Bottle $6.97 6-Pack Sicilianos, Grand Rapids Stoudts American Pale Ale exits the bottle a crystal clear golden with an orange hue. A few streams of large carbonation bubbles rise to the surface. A one finger off white soapy head formed on an aggressive pour but quickly faded to a thin swirling. Leaves a spot of lace here and there but nothing much. The aroma has generous helpings of caramel and biscuity malt. There’s a sugared grapefruit a orange wedge citric edge that balances out the malt bill. Smells good but a little on the weak side. Stoudts Pale is one of those nicely balanced pale ales. Although I usually prefer the brewers going a little heavy handed on the hops I can appreciate a well balanced pale ale, and this is nicely balanced. Much more biscuity in the flavor than the aroma but the caramel still swirls around in there. The citric candy like hoppiness come around toward the backend. The medium body is about right with slickness that slides through nicely. It could stand a higher level of carbonation. The lack of carbonation leaves this beer feeling a little watery when it really shouldn’t. I could see myself drinking a few of these around the grill or while watching some football. There’s a nice refreshing character that keeps this going down easy. While this is a decent pale ale I don’t think I could justify picking it up again with all the great options out there. I do think this would be a good introduction into craft brew for the newbie though. 12/14/07

Bottle: Pours a light copper color with a small white head. Decent lacing. Aroma is mild of florals and sweetness. Flavor is a nice combination of citrus and maltiness. Basic pale, worthy of enjoying on a regular basis.

355 ml. Clear, orange-copper with a medium-sized, lasting head. Spicy fruit and resin aroma. Flavor is hop-dominant, with spicy pollen and resin flavors atop some subtle sweet and toasted malt. Sort of a one-note (maybe two) flavor song, but the tune agrees with my tastebuds. Palate is light-medium and sorta creamy, tingly, and watery all at the same time. Good session ale.

Clear body, small head. Malty and hoppy, but not overwhelmingly so. Somewhat ordinary, but definitely refreshing.

355ml bottle @ RBNAG’07. Clear golden body with a dense off-white head. Relatively moderate aroma of malt and hops. Flavor is malt with a bitter edge. OK straightforward ale, maybe a bit ordinary to survive a grand tasting night. Re-rate when possible.
