Stoudt’s American Pale Ale is a nice, easy to drink, and highly sessionable Pale Ale. The toasted malt/light toffee flavor is well balanced with the citrus and light pine hoppiness. The bitterness is a good level and is well within the APA range. Clear, orange copper color; medium body; crisp and clean. Another solid and enjoyable Stoudt’s brew. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 27, 2007 12 oz bottle - pours with a nice head, which hangs around for a while. Just a tad lighter in color than I would expect for an American Pale Ale, but still OK. Wonderful hop nose. Great flavor of hops and malt - well balanced. The guys on the West Coast may disagree, but this is what an APA should be. Good stuff - great job Carol!!! bfeldmann (1042), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 15, 2007 Poured a nice yellow/copper color with small head. Aroma was sweet caramel, citrus hops and dirt maybe. Flavor was much the same with a nice balance of bitterness and lots of orange in there. Surprised me.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 12, 2007 Bottle. Clear amber with a frothy off-white head. Light toffee and honeysuckle aromas punctuated by citrusy hops. Flavor of caramel malts balanced well by the cascades, finishing off-sweet and citrusy. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Pretty nice APA. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 3, 2007 bottle. Nice golden, crystal clear pour with thin head that laces nicely. A few years ago this was considered hoppy among other APA’s. Now it is rather tame compared to the mega hopped beers and it is nice to fall back to what got you there. This is a classic, nice malt-hop balance that is the perfect session beer. Always a hit. jason (1623), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 2, 2007 Bottle. Poured a hazy golden amber body with thin head. Aroma is of hops and citrus with both being present in the taste. Nice hop kick to it and a little bitter. EithCubes (2151), Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 2, 2007 Bottle. Lots of grapefruit and citrus with a little foot funk. Strong bready malt aroma, too, with some lighter notes of lychee and pine. Rich golden body with a sticky, creamy white head. Taste’s lots of malt with light piney resin, cirtus and orange in prominent position. Full body with a resinous, medium-dry aftertaste. Medium body with light bitterness and a touch of rubbery caramel. Touch thinner than I’d like, but nice.
