Was intrigued to see what Stoudt’s could come up with in this area, and the results were middling. Dingy light brown pour with chunks of yeast and a massive, unruly head from the intense bottle conditioning. The nose is all bourbon, alas. I’m talking all bourbon, Jack, not just a dominant characteristic. Sharp and boozy flavor leads things off, giving the impression of a much more potent beer. Faint char and grass, with a wee hint of orange peel, but overall it’s a bit of ashtray unfortunately. after4ever (2773), Brier, Washington, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 14, 2009 Brewed in the USA... When i opened this one it exploded like a volcano !!! Pours a chestnut brown color with a monster foamy off white head and tons of heavy carbonation. Aroma of toffee, citrus, pine, malts and earth. Taste of toffee, malts, toast, grains, nuts and some mild hops. Mouthfeel is medium in body with a spritzy palate and a dry bitter finish. Overall, pretty interesting and would like to try this one again sometime. Rciesla (3670), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 6, 2009 750. Pours an amber bruin body with an off white head. Belgian strong aroma with tons of barrel. Bourbon, alcohol, vanilla, booze, oak, and a woody whiskey tone. The little hop characteristics left are in the form of some some spicy resins that are just barely detectable. Ipa in a barrel, bad idea. Snojerk321 (1983), San Diego, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 12, 2009 750ml bottle. A very underrated brew in my opinion. Pours a deep cola brown with an enormous beige head. Nose kicks off with stunning notes of vanilla, bourbon, toasted malts and faint piny hops. Flavor was not near as bourbon forward, but lots of dark toasted malts and light woody notes. Damn tasty stuff. dmac (1466), Toms River, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 11, 2009 750 ml cork and caged bottle from Capones. Okay this one pours like it’s infected with more head then an all oral gang bang on top of a muddy dark chocolate brown body. Aroma is fantastic with lots and lots of wood coming through from the barrel aging, very soft bourbon notes, buttery vanilla , grassy hops, light citrus. The body has more of the possibility of an infection showing but only a slight bit.....very bubbly carbonation on top of a thin body. Hmm on second thought the carbonation is so strong especially for a BA beer that maybe this is the onset of some type of infection. The flavor is nice but with such a bubbly thin body you have to concentrate to pick up on the flavors. Buttery vanilla, bourbon, wood, citrus rind, booze, grassy hops. Really great aroma but the carbonation is so overpowering that it really knocks this beer down a lot, could have been a 4+ but alas it’s only a mid 3. argo0 (6907), Washington DC, USA
