2008 Bottle - Thanks jake65 - Pours thin and black with a tan head...aroms is dark fruit, chocolate and slight barrel...flavour is similar, it has a char tang going on, I get more barrel in the nose and a bit thinner than most, but still a fun beer...

Bottle: Dark brown pour, near black. Large tan head. Nose is sweet with bourbon and faded hops. A little roasty and cocoa. Tastes malty with bourbon notes, roasty and chocolatey. Really mellow barrel notes, which I am appreciating more these days.

Bottle thanks to hopdog. Pours dark brown with nice thick tan head. Nose is roasted malt and coffee with a bit of chocolate. Flavor is rich with coffee with bits of chocolate, bourbon touch of smoke and a pinch of chocolate. Medium body with good warmth from the alcohol.

750ml Bottle: Aroma of whiskey, oats, chocolate, malts, vanilla, butterscotch, and caramel. Poured black in color with a medium-sized, dense, tan head that lasted throughout. Opaque. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of butterscotch, whiskey, bourbon, chocolate, roasting, malts, vanilla, molasses, and tobacco. Medium to full body. Thick, slightly sticky texture. Average carbonation. Sweet, roasty, whiskey and butterscotch finish.

Poured real dark and oily with a thin tan head. It smelled like the usual, heavy stout with chocolate and coffee hints but had a mildly lofty oatmeal scent as well. The taste was pretty much right on with the smell, and it went down extremely smooth for how heavy it was. Definitely a great stout.

iowaherkeye brought this guy, and it ruled. Black pour with a tan head. Coffee, caramel, toffee aroma. Flavor was oak, vanilla, coffee, caramel, light citrus, whiskey. Finishes very lightly boozy. Not over barreled, and lets the great beer below shine. Breweries take note.

Black with a beige head that had amazing retention and lacing. Smell was of oak, vanilla, cream, and dark chocolate. Taste was whiskey and oak flavored with some smoke and coffee. Very smooth tasting barrel aged beer. Body and carbonation are both medium. As previously mentioned, this was very smooth, I’d drink this again. Thanks to iowaherkeye for sharing.
