| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 12, 2008 Poured real dark and oily with a thin tan head. It smelled like the usual, heavy stout with chocolate and coffee hints but had a mildly lofty oatmeal scent as well. The taste was pretty much right on with the smell, and it went down extremely smooth for how heavy it was. Definitely a great stout. pepsican (885), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA

Coffee, caramel, toffee aroma. Flavor was oak, vanilla, coffee, caramel, light citrus, whiskey. Finishes very lightly boozy. Not over barreled, and lets the great beer below shine. Breweries take note. badbeer (433), Iowa, USA

Smell was of oak, vanilla, cream, and dark chocolate. Taste was whiskey and oak flavored with some smoke and coffee. Very smooth tasting barrel aged beer. Body and carbonation are both medium. As previously mentioned, this was very smooth, I’d drink this again. Thanks to iowaherkeye for sharing.
