JoeMcPhee (3807), Jackson Heights, New York, USA May 14, 2008 Tap at Stoudt’s Brewing. Very pale golden straw colour with a fluffy white head. Lots of fresh bright zesty hop aroma. A bit of light honey as well. Fresh noble hop flavour over a very lean pils malt base. Less syrupy than most other impy pils I’ve had. Very light breadiness and some lingering lemony citrus and zesty spiciness. More hallertauer/tettnanger-like hoppiness than saaz. Really excellent brew with a soft crisp bitterness.
DocLock (4170), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 28, 2008 Draft. Medium gold pour with white head. Nose is pale malt, heavy Saaz hops, honey, mild fruit. Crisp tasting with initial Saaz hop and pale malt flavors giving way to some apricotty fruit and lemonrassy hay notes. Crisp and smooth, this one is very good, although I prefer their regular pils. agl108 (367), Manayunk, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 18, 2008 On draft at Flat Rock Saloon. Poured golden with white head. Solid lacing. This beer is dominated by a grassy, hoppy finish. Saaz all the way. Suprised to see 8% ABV. Alcohol not noticeable. Worth trying again. Cruzan59 (149), Lititz, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 1, 2008 Draft at the brewery...pours clear amber, white head...nice floral, hoppy aroma...smooth mouthfeel, citrus, mild hoppy bitterness yet sweet at the same time...right up my alley, really good. michael-pollack (1465), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA May 27, 2008 Draught at TDR Ex: Aroma of hops, lemon, grass, and a bit of soap. Poured golden/yellow in color with a medium-sized, rocky, white head. Clear. Lightly sparkling. Flavor is lightly bitter and lightly sweet. Tastes of citrus, lemon, hops, herbs, pine, grass, and a hint of bubblegum. Medium body. Tingly texture. Lively carbonation. Bitter citrus and Pils malt finish. Hold the Pilsner flavor very well for an imperial Pils.
