Huge malt nose with almost sugary overtones. No alcohol on the tongue or the nose. Very sessionable. HDane (81), Chesapeake, Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 22, 2006 Bottle. Golden brown with a white head. Looks like a standard lager, but thankfully, it’s not. Nose is odd... fruity, toffee, sweet fruits. Flavor is much of the nose, with a bit of a nut aftertaste. gputty (456), Virgina Beach, Virginia, USA

Flavor follows with a smooth body and light finish. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 20, 2006 Mad, hellstorm fizzing erupts in the body of the beer, casting an opulent sun-kissed orange color and a booming, anamorphic white fluffy head. Fierce copper kisses bracingly nail the nose, along with spicy apple butter with cascading light caramel ribbons, touches of honey and vanilla, light maple cream and an outright basted lemon twang. Bock smack toffee flavors play out with vanilla almond sweetened bran flakes. A richness of almond butter, white chocolate and maple cream sticks give a glimmer of hope. Undercarbonated, streaming through the mouth all too quickly. Hairline fracture of dryness scrapes down the tongue’s center groove. Gleans with a starved chewiness, which winds down to shortbread pretzel cookies and liquid pools of melted caramel & almond fudge. Glouglouburp (2865), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Sweet malts and light herbal hops on the nose. Honey and lots of cereals. Soft juicy body with a too-soft carbonation. Feels like a generic blonde pub ale. Really not what I expect from a maibock. Very simple and straightforward. In fact it’s a simple double maibock. BuckNaked (1209), Tempe, Arizona, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jun 13, 2006 12oz bottle: Pours to a clear, bright, full-colored copper-golden body showing tiny bubbles rising quickly to meet the large, frothy white head. The head fairly quickly dies down to about a quarter inch, but then holds that last bit nicely. The aroma is light bread, dusty grains, with some definite light fruit scents (apple, pear, mild orange blossom, and very mild citrus). Taste is full on light malts, dusty grains, light bread dough, sweet toast, with the spicy noble hops showing a bit towards the middle. Finishes with a moderate spicy hop bitterness and some light fruity malt. Medium bodied, medium carbonation that never feels as though it gets in the way, very clean and crisp without sacrificing any velvety softness in the body. eaglefan538 (2394), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 11, 2006 My bottle was sublabelled blonde double bock. Ah, another American bock with a messed up overly grassy flavor (Smuttynose and St. Victorious the last two). Maybe I’ll just give up on the lighter bocks at this point. I wanted more bread, more toastiness, and all I could taste and smell is light caramel and grassy hops. Kinda tasted like this one had grass mixed in with the malt, rather disappointing. Mouthfeel was light to moderate for the style. Got the color right (pale orange) and the initial head was nice and yielded great lacing. LilKem (1210), Marietta, Ohio, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jun 6, 2006 Aroma of corn, honey, sugar, and candi corn. The mouthfeel was cloying and syrupy, and the flavors were largely composed of sugar, corn, or some combination of the two.
