Commercial Description:
A rich, deep golden-blonde lager, Stoudt's version of the German classic style includes a generous amount of honey for added flavor notes. The full-bodied Mai-bock beer is significantly stronger than Stoudt's Gold Lager. Brewed with the finest German 2-row malt and a subtle, yet noticeable touch of noble hops, this year-round beer was traditionally made to cut through the chill of early spring.

bottle from afireinside96. thanks bro! smelled like honey and hops. kind of smelled like sour fruit too but not too much. very cloudy gold color with a full white head. nice lacing on this. tatsed a bit hopy but not too much. just right for my liking. very smooth and rich and I was not expecting that.nice malty finish/a little thin for my liking but good no doubt.

bottle. smells of yeast and citrus to an extent. thinner flavor than i expected. brown fruit like dates, raisins and figs. sweet and mealy on the palette. malt disappears quickly. not bad, but not particularly exciting.

12oz bottle. Orange/golden color, fluffy white head, some sticky lacing. A rich brew, full flavored, medium/full body... grassy hops, bready, honey, subtle spices, and a pretty aggressive finish of alcohol. Bold but still retains a lot of lager characteristics- very drinkable. I’m a fan.

Pours hazy gold with decent, though, unsustainable white head. Sweet hop aroma, somewhat piney. Hop bitterness is very well balanced with the malty backbone of this beer. Medium going on medium-full body. Smooth pleasant finish.

The aroma is malty with grassy hops. The appearance is deep gold with a larger than average head. The flavor is like the aroma. It’s not complex but it’s effective. The palate is OK. Overall it’s better than average.
