| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 21, 2009 This is an excellent example of an EAST coast DIPA. Differeing from the west coast in the following ways: 1) Less hops than the west coast variety 2)More malt than the west coast DIPAs 3) Higher alcohol ABV than west coast 4)Higher drinkablilty. There is a rift between east and west coast DIPAs, with the east coast ones such as Stoudts, Southern Tier, Dogfish Head, Victory leaning more towards a Barleywine style and the west coast ones going for all out hops. That said, this is a great beer for those who prefer the east coast style. 1010 (212), Marysville, Ohio, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 12, 2009 Poured sunburst gold as if emitting light from the heart of the beer, with a creamy white head. Redolent of honey, nectar, oranges, and alcohol. Flavor was sweet nectar, caramel, and rubbing alcohol. Reminiscent of cointreau perhaps but too highly attenuated. Palate was full bodied and enjoyable yet dominated by phenols. I’ll have to give this one another go as I don’t think it’s entirely representative of the 96th percentile. gogaterz (20), Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 11, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Very nice medium hop aroma. Beautiful gold color slightly hazy with a thin tan head. Not as bitter as most double IPAs. Has a nice hoppy flavor with a nice palete. A great beer. askjaer (23), Frederiksberg C, Denmark
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 5, 2009 Hazy orange color with a very thin head and low CO2 level. Aroma was sweet and malty with some perfume like aroma. Taste was dominantly sweet with hints of peach and tropical fruits - traces of something metallic. Did not sense a lot of bitterness. Thick and oily mouthfeel. It leans towards a barley wine but lacks the balance between the sweetness, the alcohol and the bitterness. A flat and overwhelmingly sweet beer given the style. jthg (68), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Mar 4, 2009 The warm spicy yeasty smell starts this beer out. The aroma is almost a barley wine style. The taste is amazing smell. And, this beer finishes sweet.
This beer neatly tracks a barley wine but ends without the malt backbone! chewy (10), , Oregon, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 25, 2009 12oz bottle via trade with LinusStick. Thanks much! Pours a flat copper-orange with surprisingly light hop aroma. Full-bodied and hoppy with very little bitterness. Drinks almost like a light barleywine. Finishes with sweet honey and malt balancing out the hops. Really masks the 10% ABV. BillKismet (1952), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 22, 2009 Bronze with a fabulous hop-pocked head. Intriguing bouquet of honeyed malt, candi sugar, perhaps some Simcoe?, and fruity hops. Passionfruit and candi malted flavors. Borderline American Strong Ale for its emphasis on the malt backbone. Oh so drinkable. Stunned to see this is over 10% ABV let alone 8%. Incredibly well-crafted and balanced. A dangerously drinkable, jackhammer of an IPA.
