Commercial Description:
Stoudt's Double IPA is a strong, full-bodied ale with an intense hop character and deep golden color. This unusual brew is characteristic of the newly recognized style of extremely hoppy and malty ales of American origin. The Double IPA is our strongest beer with an alcohol of over 10% abv and bitterness of more than 75 IBU's. Multiple kettle hop additions and generous dry hopping contribute to the powerful yet smooth and fragrant hop character of this beer. 10% abv.

Cloudy orange pour with no head...Strong hope aroma of pine with a bit of malt behind it...Medium body, smooth carbonation....Slightly creamy mouthfeel...Hop flavors dominate...Lots of malty sweetness balances out the bitterness...Highly drinkable...A perfect DIPA by my standards...Delicious...

Pours a dark golden copper with big, thick, creamy head and lacing that lasts for minutes. Aroma is of malt, some hops and !!!! alcohol!!! The alcohol is very noticeable in aroma and palate. Can taste malt and some hops.. This very delicious stuff with sweetness and booziness coming through. A huge beer, my favorite brew made in Pennslyvania.Very thick and delicious.Highly recommended.

Bought a case last Saturday at Stoudt’s, and I’ll be back for more this Saturday. I consider Stoudt’s to be an elite brewer. I rated their IPA (which is no longer made) as a perfect 5.0, and I made a special trip to the Beer Yard to pick up their last case of the IPA. I still don’t know why it was discontinued. At any rate, this I2PA is awesome...it blew me away. The hops. balance, drinkability, and complexity was reminiscent of part Dreadnaught and part Rogue Brutal Bitter. I cannot deduct from this, and Stoudt’s achieves 2-time perfection in my mind. For those unable to get this directly, do yourself a favor and trade for it. I have extras. Bravo to Stoudt’s.

Awesome impy IPA, dark copper color, slightly hazy appearance, decent sized off-white head, very nice lacing around the glass, well balanced aroma, nose full of malt, pine, earth, hops & citrus, very well balanced flavor & mouthfeel as well, huge hop character, big malt flavor as well, more notes of pine & citrus, finish is resiny & full of hops, slight malt aftertaste included as well, very well-rounded beer, excellent double IPA

Damn, another beer I could smell for hours. Pours hazy orange with a white fluffy head. Aroma is big grapefruit hops with hints of pine. Taste is similar to the aroma. In comparason to Stoudts IPA, the two are complete opposites. The IPA is more mellow and balanced, while this guy is hops all over the place. Fruity bitter aftertaste lingers for ever it seems like. One of the best I’ve had.

Fellow KISS fan and RateBeerian pjk33 is to be thanked for delivering this heavenly brew to me.

This beer is OUTSTANDING. I am in awe of how good this thing actually is. Sweet, tart, bitter, and then sweet again. This is definitely making my Top 10 list. Awesome! One of the few beers that I held upside down for over 30 seconds to get EVERY drop out of the bottle. If you have a chance to taste this delight, DO IT!

This is by far the best Double IPA that i have ever had. The color is deep gold. It has a little fruit flavor to it that makes the finish great.

At long last, an IPA with a strong sweet malty backbone. The malt brings the hop character down to densely-flavored Fuggles level. The balance on this is approximately as gorgeous as its big fluffy protruding head. Then there’s the velvety smooth (even if somehwat thick-syrupy) finish. Ridiculously drinkable. Thanks, I’ll have more!
