Dec 28, 2008 Strong malt aroma. Opaque dabrown color with a small brown head. Malty and bitter in the beginning. Bitterness increasing in the finish while the malt flavor fades. light amount of alcohol evident.

Dec 22, 2008 My first impression was not good. Smelled liked rotted oats.However. I let this sit for about a half hour before smelling again, and strangely the aroma changed.It was actually pretty good. Strong roasted malt and hop scent with hints of coffee and caramel. Milk chocolate creaminess, some spruce, oat,and malt flavors in there. Good complexity to it as the flavors seem to show themselves in stages. semi-bitter chocolate aftertaste with notes of coffee and hops

Dec 22, 2008 Bottle. Pours a cloudy black with a thin tan head. Strong chocolate and oat nose. Warm roasted malt flavors with coffee, brown sugar, dark chocolate, oats. Full bodied with a sticky after taste. Really solid IRS!

Nov 27, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours dark brown with tan head. Aroma is strong with roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, oat and brown sugar. Flavor is heavy on roasted malt and coffee. Also picking up notes of oat and chocolate. Could use some more chocolate and less coffee as beer finishes with burnt coffee bitterness. A good RIS but a little to much coffee for my palate. Oct 31, 2008 P00tz used to have a dawg that looked like the mutt on this label, and this beer brings back memories of chilly evenings lounging on tha porch with P00tz’ best friend, and some of what P00tz likes to call pharmaceuticals. This beer would go just fine on a night like that, thick like a milkshake, oily like dog drool, and warms you up like hot oatmeal. It makes me think Charles Barkley will be a good governor. Or maybe it makes me think ’’why must I feel like that, why must I chase the cat?’’ Nuttin’ but da Fat Dog in me!

Oct 30, 2008 This is a special beer. Dark, with a tan head that lasts for a while. Nice lacing on my glass. Tastes of coffee. Thick mouthfeel, heavy in flavor. Nice beer.

Oct 23, 2008 Pours dark brown, smells of coffee, oats, and chocolate. This is more an oatmeal stout than imperial stout in my opinion, minus the high ABV. Taste is heavy on the semi sweet chocolate, oats, and cofee. A very good brew.
