More complex flavor, with hints of vanilla and dark fruits joining the chocolate and roasted coffee as well as a nice amount of bitterness from the hops. A little light bodied, but a pretty good beer. tarc (47), New Jersey, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 10, 2008 Bottle. Dark, stouty body with a finger of tan head and aromas of dark fruit, charcoal and coffee. Wow! Flavor is a great mix of the above flavors with a nice little vanilla silkiness that works its way through the palate. This caught me off guard with its goodness. flatmatt (227), Northville, Michigan, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 9, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours black with a medium tan head. Aromas of dark fruit, roasty coffee, dark chocolate, and sweet vanilla. Flavors are roasted coffee, vanilla, oats, chocolate. Pleasant flavor profile overall, not as full-bodied as the top imperial stouts, but a really nice combination of flavors. Nephilium (557), Ohio, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 3, 2008 Strong bittersweet chocolate nose, pours opaque black with a nice thick tan head on it. The taste is of chocolate, roast, coffee, and a sweet note that I can’t place. Nice long roasted finish. Medium bodied. Not a bad beer at all.
