Jan 29, 2008 12oz bottle, an extra in a trade from a while ago. Thanks! Pours a clear, dark brown color; light tan head with solid retention and textured, fine-bubbled lacing. Pleasant aroma: nougats, roasted malts, chocolate; alcohol present, but minimal; an oily nuttiness showing as well to smooth things out. Light carbonation, giving a soft, almost creamy mouthfeel; a bit of heft, but hardly the viscosity of a full-size imperial stout ( and watery at the edges); plenty of roasted / charred malts and darker chocolate; some oily nuttiness coming through; straightforward, with mineral bitterness present at mid-palate; below-average imperial stout; ok stout. Medium finish, showing wet malts, nuts, and some graininess.

Jan 26, 2008 Black with a small tan head. Roasted chocolate aroma with a mild alcohol scent. Taste is pretty much the same with a little bitterness. Alcohol isnt noticeable in the taste which is nice.

Jan 25, 2008 Pours black with a tiny light brown head. Nice, rich, roasty aroma, some chocolate, light coffee, and a touch of dark fruit, but more on the roasty side. Really nice palate, full and rich. Up in your face flavor right away, with some bitter chocolate, andnoticeable alcohol right up front. The finish turns to roasty malt, and sweet dark molasses. Really sharp on the palate. Almost stinging in a way. Really solid imperial stout. Another quality brew from these guys.

Jan 22, 2008 12oz bottle Cyn brought back from the East Coast, thanks!! This is pretty damn tasty and surprisingly good with dinner, not the typical use of an imperial stout, but I liked it. Nice black pour, decent head. Overall Sweet full bodied impy. Nice work.

Jan 22, 2008 Bottled. Nice black color with a little bit of off-white head. Great aroma. Flavor is good but not as deep as other stouts I’ve had. Very smooth with no bite or bad aftertaste.

Jan 20, 2008 Foam Rangers January meeting. Dark cola color. Nose of coffee and strong dark chocolate. Flavor was the same with some sweetness as well.

Jan 19, 2008 Updated: Oct 23, 2008Slick clean coffee smell. Also some cola aroma, asphalt, charcoal, and nice robustness, some alcohol. Totally opaque black body with tan head. Tastes clean and pure. Smooth and straightforward. Sweet, baltic porter-like feel on back of tongue. Lovely balance of flavors. Some earth, soil, mineral in great way, smooth. Nice mouthfeel. Yum.
