Nice, rich, roasty aroma, some chocolate, light coffee, and a touch of dark fruit, but more on the roasty side. Really nice palate, full and rich. Up in your face flavor right away, with some bitter chocolate, andnoticeable alcohol right up front. The finish turns to roasty malt, and sweet dark molasses. Really sharp on the palate. Almost stinging in a way. Really solid imperial stout. Another quality brew from these guys. WeeHeavySD (3042), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA

This is pretty damn tasty and surprisingly good with dinner, not the typical use of an imperial stout, but I liked it. Nice black pour, decent head. Overall Sweet full bodied impy. Nice work. Flavor is good but not as deep as other stouts I’ve had. Very smooth with no bite or bad aftertaste. Zinister (1207), Houston, Texas, USA

Also some cola aroma, asphalt, charcoal, and nice robustness, some alcohol. Totally opaque black body with tan head. Tastes clean and pure. Smooth and straightforward. Sweet, baltic porter-like feel on back of tongue. Lovely balance of flavors. Some earth, soil, mineral in great way, smooth. Nice mouthfeel. Yum. carl4beer (409), Fairfax Station, Virginia, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 17, 2008 Bottled! Appearance was pretty impressive with two-finger off beige head. Aroma was a combo of sweet oats and a huge dash of dark chocolate. To me, the flavor boasted rich dark chocolate in the fore front wrapped in a blanket of bitter espresso and sweet oatmeal. Could have been a bit chewier, but overall, solid impy...highly enjoyed! Jason, we were seriously on the same page with this one... Ughsmash (4091), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 14, 2008 Bottled on 10/4/06, served at cellar temperature. Poured deep, hazy garnety-brown with a nice initial cap of deep tan head that settled down to a film and thick ring after a minute or so. The aroma picked up a sweet, well-roasted dark malty blend (semi-sweet chocolate, coffee grounds, and molasses) with a very well-integrated oat and lactic sweetness surrounding.. there was some dark odd note that I picked up at first, but it dissipated after a minute, and this became very alluring! The flavor picked up where the aroma left off.. caramel and sweeter, almost burnt chocolates upfront with vanilla and sweet oats coming shortly afterward.. coffee bitterness was light and complimentary.. caramel, chocolate, and molasses on the sweet finish.. well-balanced, with some warmth at the end. Medium-bodied (wish it was a little heavier) on the palate.. sweet overall, and very satisfying. Very good beer!
